Recent CHANGES to the Polynesian Village Resort Construction

It’s been a little bit since we’ve checked in on a certain Disney World construction project.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s going through a lot of construction right now in multiple different places — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort just to name a few. We’ve been keeping an eye on the construction of the new DVC Villas coming to the resort, which had a setback earlier this month, but seems to be back on track!

Progress was going well over at the resort, but there were some setbacks when Hurricane Ian impacted Disney World.

The site flooded due to the large amount of rain in the area. During the hurricane, the Walt Disney World Resort area saw more than a foot of rain, so it’s not surprising there was some flooding. By October 6th, most of the water was gone, and trucks were on site once again.

By October 7th, a new pile of what looks like rocks had been added to the site,  and scaffolding was put up.

More things are happening!

Trucks were also back on the site continuing their work!

Earlier this month, Kona Cafe set its reopening date and is currently taking reservations, and if you’ve missed a few weeks of updates, you can check out all of the big changes that happened in September to get caught up! As always, stay tuned to AllEars for the latest construction updates all over Disney World.
