Disney World is certainly no stranger to the occasional storm.
And in multiple cases, the parks have even been shut down due to hurricanes and named storms that have threatened the Sunshine State. We’ve been keeping an eye on storms in the tropics that could potentially impact your Disney World trip, and if you’ve been worried about Hurricane Fiona’s path, it looks like we’ve got some good news to share!
Despite what rumors you may have heard, Disney World cannot control the weather.
But, it looks like luck is on Disney’s side (at least this time) when it comes to Hurricane Fiona — which has made landfall in the Dominican Republic, according to WESH Orlando.
Heavy rains, flooding, and high winds have been hitting the country as a result, and Hurricane Watches and Warnings are still in effect for much of the tropics.

But, this is good news for guests heading to Disney World this week and weekend, as they won’t be faced with having to deal with a potential hurricane. There is almost always a chance of severe weather or rain in Disney World, though, so it’s best to be prepared either way.
