What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever bought in Disney World? Was it squid-flavored chips in EPCOT? A Krykna Spider in Galaxy’s Edge? Or maybe it was an oyster with an actual pearl inside! Whatever you fancy, Disney probably has merchandise for it.
Today, we were in Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom when we noticed that a very special souvenir is finally back! Come with us to see the ACE Avatar Maker, which can transform you into a Na’vi! …Well, sort of.
At the Windtraders gift shop (the one you’ll walk through after riding Flight of Passage), you can find the ACE Avatar Maker. This machine will scan your face — learning your face shape, eye color, etc. — and then create a Na’vi doll in your likeness! (Note that the scanner cannot scan a photograph — you must be physically present for it to work.) This experience has been missing for a while, but it’s finally back now.
You’ll be able to pick the Avatar’s body and hairstyle from a few different choices. Once the scanning is complete, you’ll get an ACE ID tag. After about 20 to 30 minutes, you can return to the Avatar Maker in Windtraders to trade that tag in for your Avatar doll!
The experience costs $79.99, which is a little more expensive than we’ve seen in the past (it used to be $75). The good news is that Annual Passholders can use their discount on this souvenir.
