Between staffing shortages and already reduced schedules, travelers are lucky if their flight even takes off — as many are delayed or canceled daily. If you’re flying in and out of Florida, there’s another factor that can impact your flight almost every day: thunderstorms. And today, one such storm has caused problems at Orlando International Airport!

Flights are being canceled left and right lately, and for anyone traveling in and out of Orlando International Airport (MCO) today we’ve got some bad news — a ‘ground stop’ has been issued for MCO due to thunderstorms in the area.

This not only affects flights out of MCO, but also flights coming into the airport as well. If the ground stop continues, more flights will be delayed and ultimately canceled.

Flights in and out of MCO have been grounded.

No word has been shared on when the ground stop might be lifted or when flights can resume service to Orlando International Airport. For now, though, all flights are grounded as storms pass through the area.

The Federal Aviation Administration has also updated its website to reflect the ground stop.
