Trailer and Release DATE for the New 'Cars' Series on Disney+

We’re getting all kinds of new content on Disney+ these days!

We’ve seen countless new series and movies in the past few months, with everything from Star Wars to Marvel to Pixar. But Disney isn’t stopping anytime yet! Disney+ day is scheduled for this fall, and we just got more details about a new series premiering on that date.

On September 8th, a new series called Cars on the Road will be coming to Disney+. The new show will follow Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater as they travel across the country to meet up with Mater’s sister.

“The series is a romp across the country with Lightning McQueen and Mater,” says director Steve Purcell. “Like any real road trip, every day is a new mini-adventure with unexpected twists and turns.” The show will have nine episodes and Disney just released the trailer.

We’re expecting a lot of excitement this year for Disney+ Day! Last year, we got special celebrations in the theme parks (including early entry for Disney+ subscribers and appearances from rare characters) as well as trailers and announcements for new content on the streaming service. This year, Disney+ day will take place right before the D23 Expo, so there are lots of opportunities for more big announcements.
