Everything We Know About the Return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney World

Disney World is known for being one of the most entertaining places on earth, and that’s never more accurate than during a Disney World holiday party.

Happy holidays!

From Christmas to Halloween to everything in between, Disney World knows how to celebrate. Unfortunately, when the parks were forced to shut down due to the global pandemic, holiday parties were reimagined throughout 2021 to adhere to health and safety guidelines. But, Disney has announced that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be returning in 2022. Could Disney’s Christmas party follow suit? Here’s what we know about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party potentially coming back this year.

UPDATE: Disney has announced that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will return in 2022! See all the DATES and PRICING here, and see what will be new and returning here.

Disney World holiday parties offer fun, food, and festivities all throughout the night via a special event ticket separate from regular park admission. Last year, both the Christmas Party and Halloween Party were nixed and replaced with more exclusive (and expensive) hard ticketed events.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was replaced with Boo Bash, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party was replaced with Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours. Both new parties offered complimentary treats and drinks, and guests were able to enjoy the parks at a lower capacity.

We now know that Boo Bash isn’t returning this year, and we will once again get to enjoy Mickey’s No-So-Scary Halloween Party. But, Disney has remained quiet on what that might mean for the future of its Christmas Party.

The Not-So-Scary announcement was made about 6 months prior to Halloween — if Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is returning this year, Disney could announce it any day now. Just like with the Not-So-Scary announcement, Disney hasn’t shared any sneak peeks or information about what we might expect from a Christmas holiday party this year.

MIckey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Stage Show

Past Very Merry Christmas Party events have included a whole host of special holiday fun, including complimentary cookies and cocoa found throughout the park, and even special fireworks shows like Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show.

Not only that, but Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade has been known to delight and dazzle guests in years past — a special holiday parade featuring your favorite characters in their most festive frocks.

Hopefully, if the event does come back, we’ll even get to see meet and greets with rare and special characters like Jack Skellington, too! There are even holiday dance parties and other stage shows found throughout Magic Kingdom including A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show.

While we don’t know if any of these festive and fun events will return to Disney World this holiday season, you can be sure we’re keeping an eye out for any updates.
