New Daredevil Series Reportedly In The Works For Disney+

It is a good time to be a Marvel fan!

With Moon Knight just wrapping up its first season, a new trailer for She-Hulk, Stan Lee’s return to the MCU, and production starting on the new Echo series, it’s been a big week for Marvel! And, more is coming — one of the most successful Marvel projects to date was 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and one character from that movie is now reportedly set to return to the MCU soon!

According to Variety, a Daredevil show is now in development at Disney+. While Marvel has yet to make an official announcement, the show just tapped in Matt Corman and Chris Ord as writers and executive producers for the series.

The Daredevil Netflix series had 3 seasons and was canceled in 2018 and because of Marvel’s deal with Netflix, the characters from their series couldn’t appear in any Marvel media until 2 years after the cancellation. Daredevil and Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, have both made their MCU debuts in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye respectively since.

Netflix’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders were recently added to Disney+, which brought along a new set of parental controls due to the shows’ mature content. Because of the difference in ratings from the rest of Disney+’s original Marvel shows, it’s hard to say whether or not the new Daredevil series will be a continuation of the existing 3 seasons.

It may be likely that Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin) will return to their roles after their introduction to the MCU last year. But, Daredevil has interacted with so many people in the Marvel Comics that it’s difficult to know what to expect from this new series.
