Since its launch, Disney+ has released a ton of Marvel-inspired content!
WandaVision, Loki, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Hawkeye, Moon Knight — the list is pretty long, considering how the platform has only been around for over two years! And to add to that list, Disney+ has started production on a new series, based on a character we first met in Hawkeye!
That’s right, we’re talking about Echo! Production is underway in Atlanta on the new Echo series, which will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2023. Alaqua Cox revisits her role as Maya Lopez, who was introduced to us in Hawkeye as a deaf gang leader determined to make Ronin pay for his crimes. Check out the first look at this series!
The origin story of Echo will revisit this character, and show how her ruthless behavior catches up with her! She will have to face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace family and community in order to move forward. Along with Alaqua Cox, the series also stars Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon. Episodes will be directed by Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie.
We’re excited about this new series, and will continue to update you with the latest, so stay tuned to AllEars!
