Learn From a TRUE Disney Legend at an Upcoming Exclusive Event!

Sometimes, we take Disney’s incredible technology and new ideas for granted. If weren’t for the creative minds of some clever Disney legends and Imagineers, some of our favorite attractions might not exist today. Imagine Disney World without a monorail — it just wouldn’t be the same!

The monorail is one of Disney’s most famous forms of transportation!

Of course, it takes a pretty big team of Cast Members to run the parks and resorts, but if you’ve ever found yourself on one of Disney’s moving vehicles (we’re talking everything from the Main Street vehicles to the parking lot trams!), there’s one Disney legend you can thank.

Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr is a Disney vehicle expert. Throughout his time with The Walt Disney Company, Gurr helped design everything from the iconic Autopia cars in Disneyland to the monorail. He even helped to create a special parts system for future Audio-Animatronics figures!

Oh, and he worked on the Matterhorn, too!

Gurr is a true Disney legend, and if you’re interested in meeting him, we’ve got some great news! On May 7th, 2022 Bob Gurr will attend a special “Building Disneyland” event at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California. Talk about an incredible opportunity for Disney fans!

In a recent Instagram post, Gurr shared that he will be giving a talk at the “Building Disneyland” event, which will be hosted by a fellow Imagineer named Tom Morris. That same day, Gurr is set to be the Grand Marshal at the City of Orange May Parade!
