Do you know what sound a giraffe makes? We’ll give you a second to think about it, but if you’ve seen this Disney World show — you already know this fun fact.

Festival of the Lion King

Festival of the Lion King is a popular show in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, featuring Broadway-caliber performances from singers, dancers, aerial artists, fire dancers, gymnasts, and more. Right now, the show has been modified into the slightly different A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King, and today technical difficulties caused some issues.

This morning in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King was operating as usual, but something changed as the day went on.

Festival of the Lion King was open

All of the regular showtimes were listed in the morning, with hourly shows scheduled as usual from 10AM to 5PM.

We asked a Cast Member why the show closed early, and they told us it was due to technical difficulties with the set. They noted that the show would not be reopening for the rest of today.

If you were hoping to catch a late showing of Festival of the Lion King today, you might be out of luck. We’ll be watching this developing situation closely.
