NEWS: Tornado Watch Issued for Part of Walt Disney World

Rain is not unusual in Disney World. It is in Florida, after all.

Now That’s Some Rain

We’ve covered how to have a good rainy day in Disney World and even how to tackle extreme weather, but today might be one of those days you want to stay home.

According to meteorologist David Heckard of Spectrum News 13, Seminole, Sanford, and Orange Counties in Florida (where Disney World is located) are under a Tornado Watch until 5PM tonight.

Shortly after, The Orlando Sentinel reported that the National Weather Service has also added Osceola County to the existing Tornado Watch list, which includes the counties of Orange, Sanford, and Seminole.

Update: According to WESH 2, the Tornado Watch has been canceled for Orange, Seminole, and Volusia Counties. Now a Tornado Watch is in effect for Brevard and Osceola Counties until 7:00 PM.

Important Update: A tornado warning is in effect for Osceola County through 5:30PM. News 6 has advised individuals to seek shelter immediately.

We’ve seen plenty of rainy weather in Disney World, to say the least, and it seems that this afternoon will see some “strong to severe storms” pass through the parks. Make sure you pack your umbrella!
