More and more restaurants have been reopening in Disney World recently.

Just this month, ‘Ohana reopened at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Plaza Ice Cream Parlor started serving up sweets on Main Street, U.S.A. again, and soon even more will join. But, many Disney-goers have been wondering when other popular restaurants like Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto will reopen — and it may be soon.
Today we noticed that there were NEW changes to the menu at Trader Sam’s over in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which could indicate that we’re approaching a reopening date.

So, what were the changes? Well, the appetizer menu got a small refresh with the former Headhunter Sushi Roll changing to the Kahuna Tuna Sushi Roll (though the price will remain the same). And, two appetizers were removed including the Hawaiian Poke and Roasted Chicken Pork Pate Banh Mi Sliders.

The cocktail menu also received a minimal change with the Shrunken Zombie Head being renamed to “Zombie” (which was also done at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in Disneyland). And, though it has a new name, the drink itself remains the same.

And, the final changes were to the Sparking & White Wine’s selection with both the Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Champagne, Éperna, and the Newton Skyside Chardonnay, Napa Valley being removed from the menu and a new Argyle Sparkling Brut, Willamette Valley being added.

Disney has yet to announce an official opening date for the fan-favorite lounge, but we have seen reopening dates announced shortly after we’ve noticed menu updates recently. Of course, we’ll keep an eye out for more updates, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
