Using Lightning Lanes in Disney World can seriously maximize your day!

It’s Disney’s paid skip-the-line service that can save you hours in line at some of the resort’s most popular attractions. We have been learning and perfecting the service since the day it launched, so we can help make your Disney World day as perfect as possible. Now, we’re sharing a hack that is so good it feels illegal.
Lightning Lane Multi-Pass in Disney World can be like riding a bike. First, it might be a bit difficult, but as soon as you get the hang of it, it makes life a little easier. While we do have a lot of skip-the-line hacks, understanding the date-based ticket loophole is so good it almost feels wrong.

This one is a secret many people don’t know about, but we’re here to change that! If you are not a resort guest but are purchasing a multi-day date-based ticket, you will be able to select the start date for your tickets that gives you a window of eligibility.

After you grab these tickets, you at any point during the window that you chose. This is where the hack comes in! Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows you to book your Lightning Lanes three days before your first park day. You can actually pre-book your Lightning Lanes 3 days before the first day of ELIGIBILITY, not 3 days before you plan to use your ticket!

That means you’re putting your eligibility a few days before the first day you plan to go to the parks means you can essentially break the 3-day rule! In layman’s terms, if you book a multi-day date-based trip and you select the window that opens on Monday, but you don’t plan on using your park tickets until Wednesday, your 3-day Lighting Lane window actually opens on FRIDAY the week before. Previously, we would have thought that the window wouldn’t open until Sunday, 3 days before you’re using the Lightning Lane.

The earlier you can book your Lightning Lanes, the better rides and times you can get for your park days. We have encouraged people before to select an earlier window based on the lowest price, so you can save a bit on tickets, and now there’s another good reason to book an earlier window! If you don’t know, there are actually 3 tiers of the Lightning Lane system.

First is the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which gives you access to most of the Lightning Lanes in Disney World. Second is the Lightning Lane Single Pass. This gives you access to skip the line for the most popular rides in each park, except Magic Kingdom, which offers two. Finally, there’s the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This gives you access to every Lightning Lane in your selected park without needing to book windows. (It’s a big price hike compared to the other two.)

This hack can give you access to even better Lightning Lanes and better time windows during your trip, which will lead to maximizing your day. Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows you to pre-book 3 Lightning Lanes before your park day, and then you can book more on the day of your visit as you use them.
