NEWS: A Paid FastPass Program Will Be Coming to Disneyland Paris

Now that Disneyland Paris has finally reopened once again to guests, France’s theme park has seen a few changes already to welcome everyone back.

Namely, the biggest update we’ve seen is the entirely new Marvel-themed Hotel New York that allows you to step into your favorite comics. But, there’s another big change coming to Disneyland Paris soon that could affect the other parks around the world moving forward!

Disneyland Paris does currently have its own Standby Pass, which are free Virtual Queues that can be accessed directly from the park’s app. However, now the park has also announced that it will be rolling out the new Disney Premier Access feature this summer. This updated queue option will work like a paid FastPass option, where guests can pay €8 to €15 per guest and attraction to enter the designated Premier Access queue (where limited availability occurs).

The price fluctuates, depending on the attraction and the time of day the guests are visiting. So, this means that peak demand may also come with a peak cost for the most popular rides! Once they are in the parks, guests can check to see which attractions are operating with Disney Premier Access.

But, Disneyland Paris has stated that Disney Premier Access will be available for Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Star Tours : l’Aventure continue, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Autopia.

While there recently have been reasons to believe FastPasses could return to the American parks, Disney has only been surveying guests without making any official announcements. But, there have been a few suspicions that Disney World and Disneyland could be rolling out their own paid FastPass services at some point.

Still, we’ll have to continue to be on the lookout for more details about FastPass offerings at parks around the world. In the meantime, stay tuned with AllEars for the latest Disney entertainment and news!

  1. This is frustrating and disappointing if it happens in place of the usual Fast Pass system. One of the things I loved about the way Disney does Fast Pass compared to Universal is that it was fair to everyone and it keeps both sides of the lines moving. At Universal you can be stuck in a seriously long line because they let people who pay for their “Fast Pass” system go through first instead of alternating. Plus Disney is already expensive!

  2. This will only drive more people away. Already haven’t been in a few years, this will keep me out possibly forever. Wall Street will applaud, though.

Just calling it though….eventually it will be your card in your MDE app and you just get auto charged for whatever you do. Wait until you see what that’ll cost!

  3. Disney is going to price the average family out of a Disney Vacation. No, I will not pay a additional fee for a fast pass. It is already very expensive to take a Disney Vacation and now this. Come on Disney give your loyal Disney guests something free for the magic of our vacations.

  4. Wow, 8-15euro (about 10-18 usd) per ride, is this correct? This could really add up. We are a small family of 3 and I do not think I would pay 30-50 dollars to get a better place in line for one ride. Be interesting to see what they try in the US and how this does in Paris but I cannot see this doing well there either. My guess is we will see something similar to Universal with FP costing between 70-200/day/pp depending on the tier and the day. Hopefully Disney will offer this as a discount or free for resort guest.

  5. Bugger that in every possible way.

They already squeeze every penny they can out of you, and now this?

No, this is likely going to be my last trip to WDW if they implement it there too.

  6. I will not renew my annual pass or go to WDW anymore, if I have to pay over and above the already to expensive parking and park entrance fees, period.
