Almost one year since Walt Disney World reopened after closing temporarily for the pandemic, there are still quite a few restaurants that have yet to reopen.
Recently, we’ve seen popular spots like Maya Grill in Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Sebastian’s Bistro at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort reopen and now there’s another fan-favorite restaurant opening in the resorts!
Disney has announced that Citricos will reopen in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on July 15th with a new look and menu!
The space has been reimagined with inspiration from Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns. So, you’ll recognize some subtle reminders from the movie and the dining room will bring “guests into a fanciful garden setting where you can ‘trip a little light fantastic’ as you experience the restaurant surrounded by the glow from decorative lamps and chandeliers”
But, that’s not all — the menu will feature new dishes as well including starters like Sweet Corn Bisque with pickled fennel, popcorn, and fennel oil and a colorful Strawberry Salad with chamomile-infused goat cheese, frisée lettuce, bacon vinaigrette, and spiced sunflower seeds.
And, for entrees, guests will be able to choose from Butter-poached Florida Cobia with mashed fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus, and local mushrooms with a grapefruit beurre blanc or a delicious Guava Barbequed Short Ribs with aged cheddar creamy grits, roasted poblano, curtido slaw, and Brussels sprouts.
Of course, there are some new desserts arriving on the menu as well including Warm Apple Rose with seasonal apple, marzipan layers, and frozen coconut milk and the Chocolate Torte, a dark chocolate financier, dark cherry compote, and vanilla bean mascarpone cream.
And, guests can take their dining to the next level by opting for the Exclusive Sommelier Room, which will feature an “elevated food and wine experience” with a wine and cocktail program that was designed by Sommelier Israel Perez.
If you’re hoping to dine at Citricos when it reopens, reservations will open on July 1st and be available for booking 60 days in advance. Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more reopening news and updates in Disney World, so stay tuned for the latest!
