Disney World is not only a magical place for attractions, characters, and restaurants, but for Resort hotels that give you the chance to stay IN the Disney bubble!

Whether you’re taking a solo vacation or one with your family, each Disney World hotel has special features for various parties. Everyone has their own thoughts on which of the Disney World hotels they think are best, so we turned to YOU to pick your favorites!
According to our AllEars reader reviews, these were your top three picks for the best hotels in Walt Disney World in each category (Value, Moderate, and Deluxe).
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
At the top of your choices of Value Resorts, you can’t resist heading to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The theming itself is a pull enough with the design based off Disney and Pixar films, like the Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Cars, and the Lion King. But, that’s not the only reason you all love it so much!

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has incredible theming with Value Resort pricing, even though it is more expensive than places like Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s All-Star Resorts. The resort is great for families, since it’s basically one big playground!

The Big Blue Pool is the largest swimming pool outside of the Disney water parks, along with the awesome play areas for even the littlest of Disney fans. The rooms have a great configuration to allow some privacy for adults in the Cars, Little Mermaid, Nemo, and Lion King suites. It’s even one of the few hotels that can actually accommodate up to six people in a room!

The water view rooms can give your whole party a lovely view of Hourglass Lake, the Skyliner, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort without even leaving your bed.

Disney’s Art of Animation is Skyliner Resort, so guests have direct access to the gondola system leading to other resorts, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

However, there were a few drawbacks listed in reviews as well. Specifically, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort might not be the best choice for couples or adults on their own who want to spend more time at the resort. The atmosphere is targeted more towards kids without any sit-down restaurants or activities aimed towards a grown-up crowd.

Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter Resort
We can’t pass up Disney’s beignets, and that’s why Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter has won its spot as your favorite moderate resort! Well, that, and a lot of other awesome features. The French Quarter is themed after the heart and soul of New Orleans with Mardi Gras decorations.

The hotel is located next to its sister resort, Port Orleans — Riverside, and close to Disney Springs with a whopping 1,008 rooms spread over seven 3-story buildings. Along with a more laid back atmosphere for adults, the Doubloon Lagoon has a pool that boasts a giant sea serpent slide (yup, we’re sold).

Guests staying at the resort can take a boat ride straight to Disney Springs since the Sassagoula River connects straight to the shopping and dining district. And, even though that’s a fantastic option for your dinner plans, Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter has SO many sweet spots for dining.

The French Quarter is home to AMAZING beignets that we can hardly resist. The Scat Cats Club is also a chill place to kick back, listen to jazz music, and enjoy a drink or two.

There were a few cons brought up in reviews for Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter as well. It is a more expensive than the other Moderate Resorts. Despite being a calmer resort, there isn’t a quiet pool. Guests also will most likely have to share a bus line with the other Port Orleans Resort, which might have you waiting a while to grab a bus back from the parks. Plus, you might end up spending all your souvenir money on beignets (they’re just that good)!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort
And, the last on our list, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort has won your spot as the best Deluxe Resort! The huge hotel has 728 rooms as it’s modeled after the Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone National Park. The rustic atmosphere consists of a 80 foot tall fireplace, teepee, totem poles, and more!

The stream that leads down from the lobby also flows down to create the fantastic pool that makes you feel like you’re swimming in Wyoming stream. The Carolwood Pacific Train Room is also a unique feature of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort with artifacts and details from Walt Disney’s love of trains.

The dining at the resort is incredible with places like the Whispering Canyon Cafe and Geyser Point Bar and Grill. But, the Magic Kingdom is a short boat ride away so you can always head to the park for a meal near Cinderella Castle. Yet, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort is such a great place to stay that you don’t even need to leave to enjoy your time in Disney World.

While there are a LOT of pros to this Deluxe Resort, many reviews brought up that it is very expensive for guests. So, it may not be a place you want to take your whole family! The ceilings are super low in the rooms, and transportation to the other parks can take a while. But, it is quite the romantic getaway for couples or a blast for a Girls’ Weekend!
Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort)
Although there are other AMAZING resorts around the property, it isn’t too much of a surprise that these were your top picks! Each of these hotels have their own unique environments that make them near and dear to our hearts. And, you can take a peek inside them for yourself in the video below!

The Garden rooms at the Contemporary are excellent and quiet with nice views and patios and balconies. Uou get the convenience of the Monorail without the noise and vibration and the pools and boats to the RV Park and to The Magic Kingdom. The Port Orleans accomadations are very roomy and the whole area is filled with trees and water features. The restaurant is quite good as is the food court.
We do like Port Orleans for a moderate resort, but since we spend most of our time at Epcot, we prefer Yacht & Beach Club for the location and the pool area. Our grandkids like it there too. I guess the definition of “Best” varies on each guest’s preferences.
For me the Animal Kingdom Lodge is the most amazing hotel on property. Unfortunately it has the worst location and transportation on property so it drops in my rankings for this reason. I’m always happy if I can stay at any of the big 3 on the monorail line to MK
Don’t get me wrong I love all of the resorts on this list, but to say they are the best hotels at Disney is a little over the top. They are great hotels but I wouldn’t go that far and say they were the best. There are other way cooler and more luxurious hotels than these.
You didn’t have a vote on best villa. Of the deluxe resorts, I have stayed at Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian Village. Wilderness Lodge is nice if you don’t want to do a lot of walking. Everything is close together. Standard rooms are in the main building. It’s not as big as Animal Kingdom Lodge (again, less walking). It’s beautiful at Christmas time. Next time, I hope to stay at Polynesian and check out the new Moana rooms. Aloha!
