PHOTOS: Did You Know You Could Do THIS at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

Did you know you can watch veterinarians treat many of the animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

That’s right! If you take the Wildlife Express train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, not only can you pet animals at the Affection Section, and learn to draw Disney characters, but you can peek into the Veterinary Treatment Center at the Conservation Station and watch the veterinarians do their thing!

Today, we saw a sweet bird, named Vader (yes, Vader — they’re naming the birds after Star Wars characters), get a check-up! Vader is a yellow-throated laughing thrush. Isn’t he so pretty?

Vader even got some X-rays done!

It’s really fascinating to watch the veterinarians work with the animals.

If you haven’t been to the Conservation Station to watch, we highly recommend it — it’s absolutely fascinating. We hope Vader got a clean bill of health!
