Every Friday, we get up in the morning and look forward to watching WandaVision!

Each week, a new episode only makes us wonder more about what in the WORLD is going on in WestView! And, episode 6 has only added fuel to the fire of our growing theories about how WandaVision is totally going to flip the Marvel Cinematic Universe on its head.
But, you’re not here to hear us gush about how much we love WandaVision. You want the nitty gritty details, a few theories, and maybe even some answers about what’s happening in Marvel’s hit show! Ready to dive into the MCU? Let’s GO!
The Start of the Young Avengers
Marvel has already confirmed that the Avengers would be returning in some capacity. And, while it’s hard for us to imagine the team of heroes without the likes of Captain America and Iron Man, we might not have to.

Marvel has already been planting a few seeds here and there leading us to believe that Young Avengers could be in the works with the recasting of an older Cassie Lang (Ant-Man’s daughter) after Avengers: Endgame and now the debut of Tommy and Billy Maximoff.

Both of the twins are part of the Young Avengers collective, using their speed and telekinetic powers to debut as the heroes Speed and Wiccan. Just this past week, Billy and Tommy received their powers, and the episode purposely made references to numerous characters’ old school costumes from the comics (namely Wiccan’s).

It would make sense for Marvel to begin casting a new era of actors and actresses to take over for the Avengers as a new phase of the MCU begins. Young Avengers hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but that could easily change soon as WandaVision wraps up its final episodes of the season.
All Eyes Are on Monica Rambeau
Captain Marvel 2 will hit theaters in November 2022, without too many details yet revealed to fans. Yet, the recent evolution of Monica Rambeau’s character has started to point towards the arrival of her superhero alter ego, Photon! This past week Darcy has told Monica that her cells have been rewritten after she’s entered and exited the “hex” twice.

Monica still has plans to return inside WestView, which would alter her cell structure even further (and maybe even bring her powers out to play once and for all). Actress Teyonah Parris has already been confirmed as a part of the next Captain Marvel film, as well as Ms. Marvel star, Iman Vellani.

And, if that’s the case, we could be seeing a team of female heroes working together against the next villain in the Captain Marvel series. So, it’s HIGHLY likely that Photon will be using her new-found powers to benefit the greater good! But, it does have us wondering what’s going to happen to the cell structure of everyone else inside WestView if Monica is experiencing all these major changes…
Hayward = HYDRA
The second Hayward appeared on the screen, we had a feeling that he wasn’t going to be a good guy. And at this point, he’s been nothing but a nuisance causing drama left and right (not to mention ignoring poor Darcy’s pleas for a cup of coffee). Previously, Brian Hayward was a Hydra operative, so it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that Tyler Hayward should have the same last name.

Literally, his name is even an anagram with HaYwaRD spelling out HYDRA. We also can’t forget just how many Hydra references have been a frequent part of the commercials we’ve seen so far in WandaVision. All things are pointing towards the fact that S.W.OR.D. is infiltrated by Hydra in the comics, and Hayward could be helping these operations.

The thing that leads us to be extremely suspicious of Hayward is his involvement with Vision’s corpse at the S.W.O.R.D headquarters. Before Wanda shows up to steal his body, Vision has been severed into various parts with cords and computers hooked up to him. If Hydra has its hands in S.W.O.RD., they could be working towards building another set of super soldiers or mutants.

It would only make sense why Hayward is so set on making Wanda seem untrustworthy, when she was trying to save Vision’s body from being used for evil. “House of M” has already been referenced for Mephisto’s possible involvement in Wanda’s alternate reality, but this comic is also when Wanda utters “no more mutants,” which has a MASSIVE effect on the entire Marvel Universe.

It would also key into the fact that Hayward has put some sort of location device inside Vision’s corpse, which is why he is able to track his whereabouts inside WestView. On top of ALL THAT, he had no problem leaving Darcy to be swallowed by Wanda’s expanding anomaly, which just spells out “bad dude” to us.
Pietro’s Not OUR Pietro
Evan Peters is totally not Aaron Taylor-Johnson. That enough is clear, since the X-Men star has been posing as “Uncle Peter” in reference to the fact that Pietro is actually Peter in the outside series. After we’re introduced to more of Peters’ version of Quicksilver during episode 6, it becomes clear that he’s not the Pietro we’ve seen previously in the MCU.

Wanda even seems suspicious of this Pietro as she continues to question him about his life and memories, noting that his accent is missing. The X-Men‘s “Peter” didn’t grow up in Sokovia, but rather the United States, which complicates things further for the twins’ relationship in the show.

As a matter of fact, Peter himself is even a bit confused because his life memories seems to be different from Wanda. Yet, he HAS received old Pietro’s memories in the process of his arrival from another part of the multiverse. Peter says that he remembers being shot “for no reason at all” (which could point to the fact he has no clue who Ultron is) before Wanda sees Pietro’s dead body as he appeared at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Wanda has a lot of hesitancy about divulging information to this person who asserts is her brother, but doesn’t look like the twin she knew and loved. If Peter has Pietro’s memories, it’s pretty obvious that someone has bypassed Wanda to mold him to fit Wanda’s alternate reality.

Wanda may be able to manipulate people’s minds and create false memories and identities, but somebody else would have to pull Peter out from another part in the multiverse. The wildest part of this version of Quicksilver is that he is actually alive and well, unlike her brother that has been killed in previous MCU films.

A few fans have even considered the fact that Mephisto could be making an appearance in WestView as Peter, but there’s still a LOT weighing towards the upcoming involvement of multiverses instead. Regardless, it’s only a matter of time before this unravels even further, leaving Wanda reeling from confusion, grief, and a chaos we haven’t seen in the Marvel films yet.
Agatha Harkness… Or Someone Else?
Since everyone’s costumes in this show all pointed to alter egos, it’s a big hint that Agnes is dressed as a witch. We’ve been diving into that Agatha Harkness theory for quite some time, but there are a few updates we need to catch you up on.

During the opening credits, Agnes is wearing a pair of Juicy Couture sweatpants with the words “naughty” studded on the backside. Agnes has previously displayed knowledge that she knows about the false reality of WestView, maybe even hinting that she has “naughty” intentions of her own.

Yet, Agnes might be an anti-heroine of some sort who got mixed up in something REAL bad without meaning to harm people. It seems strange that it should specifically be Agnes who has pulled up to the Ellis Street crossroads, which could be her “meeting spot” with Mephisto. We’ll dive into it more later, but crossroads are basically a spot to summon the devil in folklore.

So, the tears streaming down her face could be real fear in the face of Mephisto, even if she is Agatha Harkness. Agnes confirms to Vision that Wanda is behind a lot of the WestView anomaly, referring to her by name instead of just the “she” other people have pointed to previously. She could be mind-controlled to do a sort of evil bidding for a bigger bad. And, you never know, she could end up teaming up with Wanda at some point since Agatha Harkness was a mentor to Wanda in the comics!

But, there is a point to be made that Kathryn Hahn voiced one Dr. Olivia “Liv” Octavius or a gender-swapped “Doctor Octopus” in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film from Sony. And, now that it’s been confirmed the MCU’s Spider-Man 3 will be receiving a multiverse, fans have been quick to point out that Kathryn Hahn could be reprising her role as Doc Ock.

But, personally, we think there are WAY too many hints towards an Agatha Harkness appearance at this point that it would seem more confusing to take this direction in WandaVision.
MORE Clues Towards Mephisto or Even Nightmare
Alright, we’re looping back around once again to our big baddie! Mephisto has gotten even more hints towards his possible involvement of the next overarching villain of the MCU. The Halloween episode brought quite a few references to a living hell as Peter notes, “Dammit, if Westview, New Jersey isn’t charming as hell.”

And, Mephisto could have easily created the alternate reality of WestView since Wanda said she doesn’t remember how she got there. Peter also references the fact that the twins have pieces of Mephisto’s soul rooted in them when he says, “Unleash hell, demon spawn!” Obviously, Mephisto will end up wanting the twins back, which could be a fraction of why he manipulated and “helped” Wanda achieve the world of WestView.

After Wanda warns the twins not to go past Ellis Avenue, there are signs it’s not just the end of the WestView proximity. As we mentioned previously about the crossroads, this could be the area Mephisto helps control the alternate reality. Agnes could easily disappear to this area without people following her, so Mephisto could be her “husband Ralph” that she speaks about frequently, but we’ve never seen.

Mephisto has been hinted at in the Loki trailer, but there are also rumors that Nightmare could be the villain in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. So, there may be a combination of Nightmare and Mephisto into one character (or maybe they’re working together), since there are quite a few “dream-like” qualities to the WestView’s characters and atmosphere.

At this point, WandaVision is REALLY pointing all of its fingers towards the fact that someone else is pulling the strings. The most recent commercial in episode 6 hints towards the fact that someone else, whoever it may be, is manipulating Wanda’s magic for their own benefit. The shark is a reference to someone who is a crafty person that takes advantage of others, while the person on the island is completely alone and desperate to survive.

This is similar to how we left Wanda in Avengers: Endgame, so someone could have come along and offered Wanda this reality in exchange of the ability to usurp her magic. But, the commercial is pretty telling since Wanda may not get anything but heartbreak at the end of this all, since Mephisto has created illusions that she has relied upon for survival.

We still have a few more episodes that we’re sure will throw us for a loop and give us a chance to build additional parts of our WandaVision theories! But, in the meantime, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the Marvel news that you need to know!
