NEW Disney Channel Original Movie, ‘Christmas Again,’ Has Started Production!

So many 90s kids remember growing up with Disney Channel Original Movies playing repeatedly on the television.

You knew the holidays were near when classics like The Ultimate Christmas Present and ‘Twas the Night came on the air! A new holiday DCOM has started production and it will make the next generation of Disney fans full of cheer.

Who are we kidding? It’ll make all generations of Disney fans bubble up with holiday cheer! Christmas Again will feature Rowena “Ro” (Estevez), “a high-spirited 11-year-old girl having a hard time getting in the holiday spirit.” Coping with her parent’s divorce and her dad’s new girlfriend, she tells a mall Santa that she wishes she could have a Christmas “do-over.” The plot is reminiscent of the Groundhog Day trope where she must relive Christmas day over and over again before she learns a lesson of love and acceptance for her family.

The film will star Disney Channel’s Scarlett Estevez (BUNK’D), along with Daniel Sunjata (Manifest, Rescue Me), Alexis Carra (Fosse/Verdon), Ashlyn Jade Lopez, Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez (A Chorus Line), Beth Lacke (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Tony Amendola (Annabelle), and Gary Anthony Williams (Star Wars Resistance). The new holiday movie is set to debut during Christmastime in 2021. In the meantime, you can catch High School Musical: The Musical: the Holiday Special streaming on Disney+ this December!
