We’re sad to report that one of the original “Mouseketeers,” Bonni Lou Kern, has passed away.

For us, and for so many Disney fans across the globe, the “Mouseketeers” are legends, laying the foundation and paving the way for endless magic for generations to come.

Bonni Lou Kern was one of the O.G. “Mouseketeers,” having first appeared on The Mickey Mouse Club, which ran on TV from 1955-1958. She was also in the first episode of The Wonder Mouseketeer, and the movie, Save the Wonder Mouseketeers.

Chasen Hampton, a Mouseketeer on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, paid respects to one of his “older sisters” with a touching homage on Twitter.

She died of natural causes at 79, in Wooster Ohio, and she’s survived by three children, Kimberly Ellington, Allyson Struzan, and Janet Bucklew, along with six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Here’s to you, Bonni. Thank you for the joy!
