Earlier this month, Japan extended their state of emergency through the end of the month.
At the time, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced that restrictions would remain in place through May 31st.
According to ABC News, Japan has lifted the state of emergency in all remaining areas, including Tokyo. Up until today, the state of emergency had still be in place in Tokyo and four other remaining areas.
So, what could this mean for Tokyo Disneyland? Earlier in the month, Tokyo Disney announced that, “reopening of the Parks was to be decided in mid-May; however, based on the extension of the state of emergency declaration, hereafter, the decision on the reopening date will be made and announced once the requests from Government and local municipalities have been lifted.”
Since the state of emergency has now been lifted, hopefully we will hear more news regarding the plans for Tokyo Disney soon. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more.
