With the country of Japan extending the dates for their state of emergency, everyone has been looking to Tokyo Disney Resort to see what they would do in response.
Until now, both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea were expected to be closed until at least mid-May, with another announcement expected them for whether or not the closure would be extended. Today, the page for the resort has been updated to clarify that the date when it was expected that another announcement will be made has been pushed back.
While Tokyo Disney was originally set to make a determination in the middle of the month on whether the parks should re-open, they have updated their site to note that while “the re-opening of the Parks was to be decided in mid-May, however, based on the extension of the state of emergency declaration, hereafter, the decision on the reopening date will be made and announced once the request from Government and local municipalities have been lifted.”
Additionally, the update states that a new opening date for the major Tokyo Disneyland expansion that includes a Beauty and the Beast area will be determined after both parks have been re-opened.
We will keep you updated once we learn more about any potential Tokyo Disney Resort re-opening.
