You might recall (likely with some frustration) that Walt Disney World recently replaced some of its human PhotoPass photographers with automated camera boxes. (We shared the most recent incident here, in case you’d like to relive it.)

But now, after lots of pushback from guests (and perhaps other factors), Magic Kingdom has replaced those generally-despised automated cameras with a real life human PhotoPass photographer. And we bet you can guess where.

That’s right! Magician Mickey is back to greeting guests solo at the Town Square Theater (he has been meeting with Minnie here for nearly a year), and with his return yesterday came the return of PhotoPass photographers.

We don’t know if this is a permanent change (the automated camera boxes are still in place), but we’ll keep an eye out to see how the saga unfolds!
Will the use of an automated camera vs. a PhotoPass Photographer impact whether or not you’ll meet characters on your next trip? Let us know what you think in the comments!Â

Congratulations, now bring back the rest, and pull out those boxes.
Seems Disney is taking personal touch from families and the photographers are special people that help capture our Disney memories. It’s getting to be all about the money and the bottom line. Everything costs more and we get less quality. I’ve been going to Disney for over 30 years I think the quality of things should be brought back.
