This week, D23, The Official Disney Fan Club, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the cult classic “Disco Mickey Mouse” album. Do you remember it?
The celebration was a throwback roller skating party held at the Moonlight Rollerway rink in Glendale (near the Imagineering offices).

Guests enjoyed traditional roller rink concessions in between discoing the night away on wheels.

Among the many participants were some familiar Disney faces:

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Bret Iwan (voice of Mickey Mouse) and Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka Tano/”Star Wars:Â The Clone Wars“).
As part of the night’s entertainment, Mickey and Minnie debuted new disco outfits while performing in their own disco roller skating routine.

As a parting gift, guests were given a copy of the vinyl copy of Walt Disney Records’ new 40th anniversary reissue of Mickey Mouse Disco.

If you were unlucky enough to have missed this event, you still have another shot at getting your disco on, as D23 is taking their mirrored balls down the road to San Diego for Mickey’s Disco Night at the House of Blues, in time for San Diego Comic-Con.

Tickets will be on sale Monday, June 24, 2019, at the D23 website with more announcements/details to follow!
