Disneynature’s latest film, Penguins, arrives in theaters tomorrow, April 17. Before the premiere, the cast, crew, and Disneynature Ambassador Dr. Jane Goodall celebrated the film with a special screening in New York City.
The special event was hosted at the IMAX Theater at AMC Lincoln Square.
Special guests included Penguins directors Alastair Fothergill and Jeff Wilson, producer Roy Conli, narrator Ed Helms, and environmental icon and Disneynature Ambassador Dr. Jane Goodall.
Disneynature’s latest film follows Steve, an Adélie penguin, who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. None of it comes easily for him, especially considering he’s targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals, who threaten his happily ever after.
Penguins continues Disneynature’s conservation tradition. For every ticket sold opening week (April 17-23, 2019), Disneynature will make a donation to the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) to help protect penguins across the southern hemisphere. Conservation is a key pillar of the label and the films empower the audience to help make a difference, with each film supporting wildlife featured in the films.
