I don't think I have a single bad thing to say about this place - except that I felt underdressed after spending a day in Hollywood Studios and arriving in my jeans and tshirt. 🙂

I had the minestrone - amazing.

The mushroom risotto - to die for.

Go here if you have a night without the kids. Most parents I saw here weren't fully enjoying themselves because the slower pace bothered the young ones.

Pros:

Great Service, Delicious Food, Amazing Wine, Great Bread

Review of Tusker House Character Breakfast

We did the Tusker House Breakfast buffet starring Mickey and Co. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about eating at Tusker House. I cannot eat Gluten and Dairy. When making the reservation I specified online and told the server. She called the Chef over who walked me around the offerings and told me what I could and could not eat. They have a separate station that is solely for gluten-free foods and other allergens. The cast members are eager to please and make fresh gluten and dairy-free Mickey Waffles. Smile

The buffet offers typical light fares but also neat alternatives like tasty sweet potato dishes and roasted potatoes. There were also other types of meats available. Great food for the adult-types.

We had fun getting our pictures with Mickey and friends and the servers make sure that everyone gets to see ALL the characters. Even if you miss one they will be sure to help you meet one of them on your way out. They only let a few people into the restaurant at a time so it never got very crowded and we didn't have to wait in long lines for food.

It is a fun atmosphere. If you are looking for somewhere to eat that is not loud, however, I would not recommend breakfast at Tusker House. I thought it was a fun way to start the day at Animal Kingdom!

Pros:

breakfast buffet has delicious alternatives, accomodating for restricted diets, helpful cast members, fun environment

Cons:

Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge KIDANI Village (Disney Vacation Club)

our family of 4 adults, a 7yo and an infant were lucky enough to experience an 8 night stay in a 2 bedroom (3 bathroom) villa with a savannah view at Kidani Village.....the layout and space of the suite were amazing.....we had supplies delivered by Garden Grocer (another 4star service)....it was wonderful to be able to get our breakfast/snacks in our own time, without having to get ready and travel somewhere for it....our two special requests (faxed in prior) were granted....the Sunset Savannah and placement near the lobby/ elevators....the balcony is accessed from three rooms running the length of the suite and there aren't words to describe relaxing as you watch graceful giraffes just below you....

the staff/service was spot on....as non-DVC members we had daily housekeeping which was a lovely plus.....our second evening we came back to the treat of a tray of zebra domes and chocolate covered strawberries waiting in our room for us...

the lighting, as others have commented on, was never a difficulty for us

underground parking is a great idea....however, we found that there were very few disabled spaces close to the elevators....really, the only negative I can come up with.....

our son & daughter-in-law totally enjoyed the Nighttime Safari and were very complimentary of their guide and the experience....

you could enjoy this resort without going near a theme park.....an incredible holiday, thumbs up!!!!

Pros:

pretty much everything

Cons:

limited disabled parking spots in garage

Review of All Star Music Resort (Value Resort)

We have only stayed at most deluxe resorts and a couple of the moderate (French Quarter PO and Riverside). This was a wonderful surprise. The staff here is really nice and helpful and the housekeeping was exceptional. We got the food court one night very late and the food was great. Son and daughter in law got a pizza and I got a cheeseburger that was cooked perfectly. The negative is how horribly we were treated by the lady loading the bus after a very long day at Epcot. I have been coming to Disney for over 15 years and have NEVER been treated so badly by a Disney employee. This does however NOT reflect on the resort only on the continuing problems with the bus service anywhere we have stayed in the past. We drive if at all possible, but had wine at Epcot and could not do so. I am coming again in April as we have purchased AP's (Florida). This time I will be traveling with my best friend and are again going to stay at AS Movies resort. We stay at the holidays at Wilderness Lodge for our weekly vacation, but this nice resort is a great option for 3 day stays throughout the year. For under $300 (watch specials) we have a clean, comfortable place to sleep and eat.

Pros:

very clean, staff wonderful and food court yummy

Cons:

busses, busses, busses

Cheese sampler for appetizer was wonderful. Had the Buffalo as the main entry. It was incredible. Wife had the filet and the Buffalo was the much better option. Berry cobbler for dessert was also excellent, however next time I would opt to ask for Vanilla ice cream on top instead of the Raspberry ice cream since the primary berry for the cobbler was blueberry.

Pros:

Buffalo and Ambience

Review of All Star Music Resort (Value Resort)

Just returned from a resort-only stay at this resort (3/1-3/8). We have stayed at deluxe, moderate and value resorts before. We loved All-Star Music. I was worried before we arrived because we haven't stayed at a value in 15 years. I didn't need to. Our room was clean. I asked for an upper-floor landscape view and received both. We were in the Broadway section and loved it.
There were several large groups staying at the resort and they could be seen in the common areas but I didn't hear them from our room at all. Maid service was probably some of the best we have ever had at WDW. Food court was awesome. The ONLY negative was that we had a crazy travel day flying to Orlando because of a winter storm. When I lined up to check-in (and I had completed online check-in), there was only one cast member working the online check-in and he was "earning his ears". He talked and talked and talked and socialized with the 2 people checking in before me. I waited more than 20 minutes and was annoyed and finally someone else came out and took care of checking me in. In the meantime, as I left, the new castmember was still talking to the same couple. Hopefully the person training him will address this.

Pros:

Everything!

Cons:

Review of Coronado Springs Resort (Moderate Resort)

We were at Coronado Springs March 4th and checked out March 7th. Our party included the Grands (ages 2 through 5) and their parents, grandparents and great grandparents. We stayed in the Casitas Building 4. We were in rooms 4443, 4444, 4445 and 4457. There was a bus stop right outside of our building: however, we drove to the parks each day.

All of our rooms were clean and smelled fresh. Mousekeeping kept the rooms well stocked and set up the Grands' lovies (aka stuffed animals) on their beds which thrilled the Grands. The mattresses were comfy and while I appreciated a break from all of the Disney theming, I can see where the lack of Mickey may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Our first night there, we played in the pool and the Dig Site and ate dinner at the pool snack bar. We had nachos, hot dogs, pork carnita tacos and fries. The food was ok. I found the tacos to be more like a chili verde instead of carnitas. The Grands loved roasting marshmallows and the water slide was a hit with the Grands. They have life vests for the kiddos if you need them.

We planned our days so that we would be at the parks early in the morning, return to the hotel for lunch and then head back to the parks. Some of our party ate breakfast in their rooms and some of us ate at the Pepper Market. My husband and I split an omelette and a fruit cup for breakfast each day. Two of the Grands split a fruit and yogurt plate. It was a huge plate of fruit. In general, I found to food to be fine. The portions were on the larger side, so splitting an entree and adding extra sides made the meals more affordable.

The Concierge desk was very helpful in adding an extra person to our dining reservations. The check in process for the most part was flawless. If you choose to add a credit card to your Magic Bands, make sure to check that they put a realistic credit limit on your charging abilities for the day. They set our limit at zero which, thankfully, I discovered at the on site shop. It took about 5 minutes to correct. Check out was just as easy. We were met by Cynthia who had a hand held device and was able to get us checked out in 5 minutes. 🙂

Pros:

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff

Review of 1900 Park Fare Character Dinner

My friends and I ate here the evening of the Princess Half-Marathon as a celebratory "Princess" dinner. I am a very simple eater (meat and potatoes) and was very happy with the food selections. The highlights were the carving station, cheesy potatoes and toasted ravioli. The toasted ravioli was my favorite and very unique for a buffet! Our waiter was really good and kept our plates cleared and drinks filled. We also had good character interactions. Cinderella was just okay, but Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters were wonderful! Very snooty and funny! We actually thought we had missed out on Anastasia because we were getting more food, but after she made her rounds she came back for us and our neighboring table who she had missed as well. We were just disappointed Price Charming didn't attend, so be aware not all characters may appear. Overall, if you want a less chaotic character meal with good food, even if you don't have children with you, I would recommend 1900 Park Fair.

Pros:

Good buffet choices, character interactions, waiter

Cons:

No Prince Charming

Review of California Grill

The California Grill is our favourite restaurant in WDW. We are from Argentina and we try to travel every other year and every time we go to have dinner here. They gave us a fantastic table facing the castle, and we saw Wishes while dining. The food was very good, as always (oh my, the pork with the goat cheese polenta!) but some dishes were very small!
The service, impecable, but there are no tablecloths and we expect that when you paid those prices.

Pros:

Views, food, service

Cons:

small portions, no tablecloth!

It is a very good option for a quick service meal, the way you order the food is very good, and they take it for your table, I ate the salmon and it was good. They have not a long list of options but it is ok for one of your quick service foods.

Pros:

good option for quick service
