We had been here before with a less than stellar experience with the food. My son loves the Jungle Cruise, so we returned despite that. I am so glad we did. We made different food choices this time and everything was amazing. Our waitress was very nice if not in on the whole corny joke thing. We really enjoyed the meal and can't wait to go back.

This is a place we always try to get to when we are in WDW. This time our experience was not pleasant. My sons options for gluten free had been small in the past, but this time they were almost non existent, but worse, the manager seemed pretty clueless about the whole thing. His food came out right away and our pizza took FOREVER. This would have been OK if someone had told us there would be a significant delay, but nobody did and we could not flag down our waitress. When the pizza arrived was when we were told they were behind with the pizza orders. I don't get it at all. Think this fell of the must do list for our trips.

Love this place. Another really good option where you get a lot of good food. Go for a late breakfast or early lunch and you will not be hungry until dinner time. The character experience this time was not as great as we have had in the past, but still good. You often see them multiple times. If you have children, I highly recommend taking them here.

Review of Chefs de France - Lunch/Dinner

We dined here on August 13 to celebrate my birthday. Our waiter, Sebastian, was wonderful helping us with our wine choice and offering food
suggestions. My sister and I opted for the prix fixe meal and my niece opted for an entree while sharing our appetizers and desserts. We love the bread here and the lobster bisque and salad were delicious. Everyone was pleased with their beef, chicken and salmon. The French desserts can't be beat. The prix fixe option is a great way to experience an authentic French meal and save a few dollars. And if you are lucky enough to have Sebastian as your waiter, you will be well taken care of. Chefs de France is one of our favorite restaurants.

Pros:

Good food, delightful waiter

My sister raved about this restaurant after her last WDW visit so I asked if we could eat here during my birthday celebration weekend. So on August 15
we had dinner here. The restaurant was beautiful-the mural and glass objects are so colorful. We started with $5 margaritas and they were scrumptious! We had chips with guacamole and two other salsas. The chips were delicious-I ate them plain after trying the sauces. My chicken enchiladas were good but a little to "hot" for me.
My sister and niece opted for chicken flauntas and
really enjoyed them. I will dine here again but
I'll choose a different entree. But it will be a Monday for those $5 margaritas!

Pros:

Beautiful restaurant, $5 margaritas on Mondays!

Cons:

Spicy but good food

Review of Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (Disney Vacation Club)

We are DVC members, but renting the points was in the $1700 range. Boy is this place worth it! First you start with the theming, which is everything it's cracked up to be. The lobby is spectacular. Now it is true that being in Boulder Ridge you're a little disconnected from the main building, but it's a short walk over.

We ate breakfast at Whispering Canyon, that was a blast. We ate lunch at both Roaring Fork (good food, very pleasant dining area) and Geyser Point. Geyser Point is right on the water and it's spectacular, I wish I'd gone back for drinks at night but we were there in August and the heat was oppressive.

Having two pool options is great, the smaller pool was almost deserted and the showers are sparkling new.

The thing I underestimated about the Wilderness Lodge is proximity to the parks. I knew we would have the boat option to Magic Kingdom, and that was great, but they go to the Contemporary as well. And the bus rides to Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood studios were 15 minutes or less! That is a huge deal in the morning when you have excited kids or at night when everyone is tired. Pile on top of that that this is a deluxe hotel and there are fewer people at the bus stop (1st bus is yours and you get a seat) and the premium is easily justified.

One night we stayed outside for the movie and you could see the fireworks from MK and in true Disney style, they piped in the music. It was really special.

We've stayed at All Star movies, Port Orleans French Quarter, Animal Kingdom, Saratoga Springs and Boardwalk and the only one that comes close is AK. But the transport times for WL put it a cut above AK which has the long bus rides. This is a fantastic hotel. I can't wait to go again.

Pros:

Location, theming, pools

Review of Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar

We went in August for dinner with my family (wife and two young daughters.) The drinks are on the adventurous side including the beer. Not a lot of Coors Light sold here. The food is tapas, so meant for sharing and more like appetizer portions. So if you're starving, this probably isn't the best place for you.

However, they have some really intriguing places to sit. There is a diving bell, the bar is neat, there is a lot of outdoor seating including on a boat. The server forgot my dinner, but we weren't in a rush. The food was good.

The atmosphere is what makes this place, inside and out. If you do a good search you'll find the golden idol from the first movie!

Pros:

Great atmosphere, esp for fans of the movies

Cons:

The dishes are small

We stayed in a kids suite, which is in building 1, the taller building, facing the highway. The room was well insulated against the noise of the highway, with two sets of doors and glass between the room and outside. The beds were all comfortable, and since we have three kids it was nice that each of the kids had their own sleeping area. Daughters slept on the bunk beds and son slept on the pull out. Parking was a bit problematic, but we were always able to find a space somewhere. Easy walking distance to the parks. Splash park was cute. It is themed towards younger kids.

Pros:

Separate area for kids, cute water park

Cons:

Breakfast not included. Parking a little tough

Busy place with really good pizza. We had one person with a gluten issue and other than the fact that they have gluten free crust, I do not think they did a great job keeping the whole thing gluten friendly. Very hard to do anyway I would think, but was a little disappointed. With that said, the pizza was really delicious.
