I give this a 7 because I'm comparing it with the other meals I had during this last trip. It was OK, and I enjoyed it, but with a little extra work I think this place could be a lot better.

Good flavor, reasonable portionsCons:

We have decided that we much prefer lunch at Be Our Guest instead of dinner. The braised pork was fantastic; the steak sandwich was moist and flavorful; and every grilled ham and cheese sandwich should have béchamel sauce! It was a pleasant surprise when one of the servers felt we had been sitting too long without food and came by to get our meal number and make sure our food wasn't lost somewhere. Honestly, we hadn't been seated but maybe 5 minutes at that time.

great food; lovely seatingCons:

What a find! I am sorry we waited so long to try this restaurant. We had lovely service from charming Italian gentlemen. The appetizer for two was more than enough for the three of us. My mother had the braised pork with polenta - and after I wrestled a bite away from her, I decided that's what I'm having next time. My aunt and I had the orricchetti pasta with Italian sausage. My aunt swears it's just like her grandma Frappolli made. It was a great start to our trip!

We've just returned from our 5th trip to Disney and it is the 1st time that we opted out of the Dining Plan.
We saved about $300 by not using the dining plan this time. Basically what we have found out (and it's no secret) is that the portions are too large for each person to get their own meal each time.
The table service restaurants don't mind at all if all you'd like to get is an appetizer and 1 entree to split. You can't do that on the dining plan. We never felt hunger or too full. It was just right.
The best time to utilize the dining plan is if you are basing your trip around the food. We did that a few years ago and were able to eat at Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Akershus, Rose and Crown, Crystal Palace, and several others. Out of pocket these would have been outrageous. It was worth it but the downside is that you must plan your whole day/trip around the table service. Minimum you dedicate 2 hours to each table meal between getting there and the meal itself.
If you prefer a more relaxed trip, skip the dining plan and you'll open up so many more options for yourself.
Pros:
you can try places you've never eaten at beforeCons:

One of the best breakfasts anywhere! Lots of good food and variety, fruits, breads, cereals, biscuits, meats, casseroles, etc. I can't imagine not finding something for everyone on the breakfast buffet. The wait can seem a little long for characters, maybe because it's a fairly large restaurant (still beats waiting in line). Even as teenagers, my boys (now 23 & 19) love to eat here for the food.
Pros:
Lots of good food!Cons:

We absolutely love Liberty Tree Tavern. My husband refuses to come to WDW unless we eat here. Menu favorites: pot roast & turkey & dressing, though we've tried others and found none to disappoint. I'm always blown away by the service here, perfect and personable every time. Best dessert in Disney: ooey gooey toffee cake! Be sure to make reservations-seems to always be crowded.

Our first trip to Rose & Crown was a cool, cloudy day in December 2012. I was hesitant, not being a fish fan, but was not disappointed. The shepherds pie hit the spot. The rest of my family, being fish fans, enjoyed the fish & chips. We sat outside with a wonderful quiet view of the lake, though we did request to sit under the heater. We'll definitely do again...

Love this place!!! Quieter than most WDW restaurants, excellent food and very attentive service. My husband claims this to be the best steak he's ever had. Not being a steak fan myself, I opted for the chicken which was very tasty. Don't miss the pretzel bread!!! So stuffed we could barely even taste dessert, fruit cobbler. This made for a perfect candlelight dinner at Christmas!

My husband and I ate here at 6:05 on 2/1/13. Though lines at check-in were long we were seated very quickly after checking in. The resturant was absolutely beautiful. We were seated in the ballroom and I loved the effect of the falling snow through the large glass windows.
I ordered the potato leek soup to start which was very good. My husband had the assorted meats and sausages which he said were just ok and he would not order again. For my entree I had the cornish hen which had absolutely no flavor/seasoning at all. The accompanying potatoes were also very bland. My husband got the shrimp and scallops which he also says was very bland and seemed to be missing the creamy lobster sauce mentioned in the menu since it was really dry. For dessert, I had the chocolate cupcake which I enjoyed and my husband had the chocolate cream puff which he said was just ok.
Overall, we were very disappointed with this restaurant. The place is so nice inside, we were able to look around a little after dinner and have our picture with The Beast, but it doesn't make up for how bad the food was. This place is also fairly expensive, I think our bill was $80 or so and that was without any alcohol, but the food was only slightly better than counter service. Such a shame because the theming is great.

We had visited for the breakfast 5 years ago - and the lunch was being prepped as we left, so when we were making our reservations this time, the lunch was on our must-do list even though the characters are a little on the young side for our kids.
The kids did LOVE the attention of the characters who come around and spend as much time as you are up for with you, and the food did not disappoint!
The Chipotle BBQ Chicken was one of our favorites, but everything was yummy and the chocolate dipped deserts were a big hit too!
