Enjoyed our first trip here in December 2012. Wait time, with reservations, was less than 15 minutes (though it was a little chilly waiting outside). Very attentive service. Really enjoyed my beef dinner. My teenage son had shrimp and loved it, but said it wasn't enough (when are teenage boys ever full?) Enjoyed creme brulee. A little loud, not overwhelming, and a little packed in. Would definitely do again...

Pros:

Good food & service

Cons:

a little loud

Review of Kona Cafe Lunch/Dinner

This was our favorite meal of our trip. I had hoped to make reservations at 'Ohana, but there were no slots available. As a backup, I looked at the reviews of Kona Cafe - and one AllEars member had described it as the best kept secret of the Polynesian. I have to agree.

My husband had the Kona crusted pork chop and it was outstanding. I had the mahi-mahi with Swiss chard and forbidden rice and that was amazing too!
The kids were happy enough with their meals (shrimp kabobs and mickey ravioli). We were all thrilled to be able to order the (non alcoholic) specialty drinks as part of our dining plan - and it made the evening even more outstanding.

When the specialty pineapple bread and butter came, we fell in love - but I noticed there was something in the butter - turned out to be macadamia nuts which I'm allergic to. When I asked the server about it, he made sure to go back to the chef and make sure that nothing else coming to our table would have macadamias - without me asking him to.

We'll be sure to go there any time we're back!

Food and Service

Love this place! We've eaten here twice, last time in December 2012. Be sure to call for reservations ASAP as they seem to fill up. The food is fabulous!!! And there is so much. They bring everything to your table, and as much as you want. Grilled chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, with tasty sides...loved the noodles. The bread they bring to the table is amazing. My son talked about it for days. Never seem to have room for the dessert, but teenagers said it was great. Our kids are teenagers +, but I love how they get the younger kids involved in the little music parade. Not too loud, just really cute. Wait staff very attentive. Hope to never miss this place on future trips.

Pros:

Lots of great food!

Cons:

Absolutely Nothing!

Review of Be Our Guest -Counter Service Lunch

It pains me to write a negative review of this restaurant, but I must, with the caveat that I'm willing to give it another shot the next time I'm at Magic Kingdom.

Arrived around 2:10 pm for lunch, stood in line for more than 20 minutes. Took 10 minutes just to place my order because the credit card machine wouldn't take my room charge OR my first credit card. Eventually resorted to my emergency credit card. A cast member had to help me on three separate occasions to get the card to go through and the same thing happened to a few other people waiting in line as well.

I ordered the croque monsieur with french fries. It took less than 10 minutes to arrive at my table, but the sandwich was soggy, the portion of fries was lame and the atmosphere of the "rose" room where I chose to sit did nothing to make up for the lousy food.

Pros:

Theme

Cons:

Food, service

Review of Boardwalk Inn (Deluxe Resort)

The only reason I can't give this property a 10 is because my room - while on the top floor - had a "view" of the front entrance to the hotel that was often loud with car motors, people, trucks, cabs, you name it.

Also, anticipate long waits for the bus to the parks if you're heading to MK, DTD or AK mid-day.

But you can't beat the ability to walk to Epcot and DHS! Definitely a great resort!

Pros:

Room size, location and proximity to parks

Review of Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort)

After trying Value & Moderate Resorts on prior vacations, booked a room at the Wilderness Lodge. The greeting was wonderful - didn't even have to check in- the package was brought to us and we were oriented to the Lodge. WOW - what incredibly beautiful surroundings. No theming detail was missed.

Paid extra for a Courtyard View - this was a waste of money! Was on the second floor - only saw trees off the balcony w/ a glimpse of the pool & nothing of the geyser or lake. Food in quick-service was very good but the actual serving area was much too small for a resort of this size. Food service staff was best we've ever met.

On second to last day, my son (who has Asperberger's type problems) had a meltdown which involves crazy levels of crying - the Manager saw this and interferred - said he couldn't have any situations where children were obviously upset by their Parents. Tried to explain son's needs and interventions - he didn't listen. He threatened to call Authorities if we didn't follow his advice and separate our son from the rest of the family for the night - ruined everything!!

Next time - will do Moderate or Value where we can spread out and have more privacy - if our son gets overwhelmed and starts to have a meltdown, will be able to just walk him around the resort which is all he needs to calm back down!!

Pros:

beautiful surroundings

Cons:

manager interefered; upgraded room not worth $$

The chocolate croissant I had for breakfast, though expensive, was the best I've ever eaten. This is a great breakfast option for those entering Epcot via International Gateway...I got my breakfast and zipped on up to World Showcase to ride Test Track!

The coffee, in addition to being too expensive, was too strong and served in a crappy cup with a lid that kept coming loose.

I also got a chocolate eclair for dessert the same day and didn't care for it as it had chocolate filling and not the vanilla filling I'm used to. I should have asked first!

Pros:

Pastries

Cons:

Coffee, Price

The lines were short, yet it took me more than 10 minutes just to get one chicken sandwich and a drink. I was standing in line and I could SEE my sandwich come out of the window, but the cast member was trying to line up ticket numbers instead of the food that had been ordered. When I joined my friends at our table, they were halfway done with their food. I won't be eating here again!

I can't believe I waited so long to eat here! The sliders combo was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient. Some friends ordered a dish that came with fries - the fries weren't ready so they brought them out to our table hot and fresh.

This is a great option for people in search of a light and delicious lunch in world showcase.

Food, location, outdoor seating, service

I was on a solo trip and tried this spot for a quick dinner before Illuminations. The sushi was very good and although the edamame was served cold, it was still quite tasty.

Seating area is nice and secluded, great spot to sit outside although there isn't much in the way of people watching.

I'd go here again and perhaps order something more interesting.
