We went for the Wookiee cookie after reading numerous reviews of it. I was very disappointed. It tasted like cool whip between too less than average oatmeal cookies. The saving Grace was the drink I got.

Food was alright but nothing too special. Similar mobile order items you find anywhere.
Pros:
The Wookiee cookie is 100% worth stopping by for.Cons:
Nothing too exciting going on here. I’d pick ABC commissary over this.Reviewed by BrittS117 Review Date: 11/23/2021

We stopped here right after Backlot opened for the day to get a Wookie Cookie and the Darth Vader stein. The wookie cookie was a good size snack for my husband and I to split. While nothing to write home about, it was still a good yummy snack. The cookie was moist and soft, while the filling wasn't insanely sweet. The cast members were nice and gave us a cup so our stein stayed clean so we could easily put it in our bag to take home. We liked the air conditioned seating area, and my husband is happy to have his stein now that we are home.
Pros:
Cookie cookie, air conditioningCons:

My daughter, friend and I were at Hollywood studios last evening and went to Backlot Express. My friend got the Cuban panini which tasted like fish and paid the price this morning in the bathroom. My daughter and I got the southwest with chicken salad. The salad was limp; the chicken dry and rubbery. We should have returned the food and got our money back that’s how disgusting it was.
Pros:
The soda was goodCons:

Backlot Express is often overlooked as a great place to grab some food in Hollywood Studios, but because of its large dining area, consistently tasty food, and fast service (with mobile order), it is my go-to dinner spot every time I'm in the Park! Also, be sure to set aside some time just to peruse the old movie props throughout the restaurant...SO COOL!
Pros:
Large (air-conditioned) dining area (with patio seating as well), quick service, good food for the price, some healthy menu options, themingCons:

I wouldn’t say it’s anything to write home about but it certainly wasn’t bad. If you’re in that area of Hollywood Studios, I think this is a perfectly fine place to grab some food! Studios is kind of a weak park for foods, so eating here was totally fine!
Pros:
Decent foodCons:

We only went there for the Wookie Cookie and OMG greatest thing I ate at Hollywood that day. GET THE WOOKIE COOKIE. If you love oatmeal cream pies like me. You will love this snack.

I mobile ordered lunch here. My food was tasty. I had the Cuban sandwich with fries and the Wookie Cookie. The Cuban was a solid choice. I didn't eat many of the fries, not because they weren't good but because I was saving room for dessert. Still, I didn't come close to conquering that giant cookie sammie! It was ridiculously tasty. I just couldn't finish it. The cream inside wasn't as sweet as I expected, which was a good thing. I loved the whipped texture. And the cookie itself was scrumptious!
Pros:
a/c portion sizes were generous plenty of seatingCons:

Mobile order pickup was a bit congested and confusing here, but I think it was just an isolated instance.Reviewed by AnxiousMillenial Review Date: 04/05/2021

Backlot Express was a total surprise to me. I wasn't expecting to enjoy my lunch here, but I really did. I ordered the cuban sandwich and I was shocked at how good it was. It isn't as good as one from an authentic Cuban restaurant, but for Disney, it was really tasty. I also had the Wookie Cookie, which ended up being my favorite Disney snack from my entire trip. I still think about that cookie and how delicious it was. Overall, Backlot Express was surprisingly better than expected.
