CONFIRMED: Disney World Is About to Add 2 More Locations to Its List of Closures

Well, just when we thought Disney World’s list of attraction closures wasn’t going to get any longer, we were proven wrong.

Conservation Station

Starting TOMORROW, February 23rd, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has two more closures being added to the egregiously long list of attraction closures throughout the parks. DinoLand U.S.A. just closed entirely in the park at the beginning of February, but now there are more closed attractions being added to the list. Yep, starting tomorrow, the entirety of Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Wildlife Express will be closed for at LEAST three months.

We’re sad to say it, but it’s true. Tomorrow will be the final day you can experience Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Wildlife Express (the train that takes you from the rest of Animal Kingdom to Rafiki’s Planet Watch) before it closes for about three months to make way for the new “Bluey” experience coming to the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER event.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch

Rafiki’s Planet Watch is currently home to the Conservation Station, which includes the Animation Experience, the Expression Section, and the really epic veterinary windows where you can look through the windows and see the techs working on animals, if you’re lucky! The whole area will be closed beginning February 23rd to create the new experience, and should be open by May 26th when Cool KIDS’ SUMMER officially begins.

Now, there’s another catch here too — this “Bluey” experience is, currently, temporary, meaning that when Cool KIDS’ SUMMER ends on September 8th, meaning that it’s very possible this land will close AGAIN to transform back to normal. While that closure would be annoying, don’t get us wrong, but we would also hate to lose the OG part of this experience, so we’re really hoping it’ll return later on.

While we’re looking forward to checking out the new experience, having a whole other area of this land closed in this park will NOT be ideal. This severely limits the number of offerings available in the park, and while we’ve normally been against the whole “Animal Kingdom is a half-day park” rhetoric, with all these closures, we can’t help but admit it’s looking more and more likely that that’s the case while this construction is going on.
