Reports are now coming in that confirm that a man has died after going overboard on the Disney Wonder.

Here’s everything we know at this time.
According to Yahoo! News, Victoria Police has confirmed that a Melbourne man has died after going overboard on a Disney Cruise ship.

The ship where the situation occurred was the Disney Wonder, which was en route to Auckland. The man was 73 years old and was from Moonee Ponds, an inner-city suburb of Melbourne.

A police spokesperson confirmed that it’s currently understood that the man purposely jumped from the ship into the Tasman Sea on Saturday, about 4:30 AM. At this time, his body has not been recovered from the water, but police are not treating his body as suspicious. CruiseMapper also reported that the ship initiated a search operation, turned back, and navigated for about 5 hours in the area where the incident was reported. The crew on board used thermal-imaging equipment to scan the water, but the ship’s captain later confirmed that the individual could not be found.

Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
