Why You Should AVOID Magic Kingdom on This Random Tuesday in January

If you are, you’re going to want to pay attention to one specific day in early January — it may affect your plans!

Unless it’s a party night, it’s rare to see a park close early. Well, we looked ahead on Disney World’s calendar, and noticed there was a day in early January when Magic Kingdom will be closing EXTRA early.

We rarely see an early closure happen this early, but it looks like Magic Kingdom will be closing at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026.

So, if you’re planning on going to Magic Kingdom on that day, you may want to make sure you have a park hopper, or maybe you’ll want to choose a different park entirely for that day. That way, you can still make the most out of your Disney day!

If you do have a ticket with park hopping abilities, one of our favorite hacks is to go to Magic Kingdom in the morning on days it closes early like this. The wait times tend to be really low since many others avoid it entirely! It doesn’t work for everyone — because park hopping isn’t the best choice for everyone — but we had to mention it.

Disney didn’t confirm as to why the park is closing so early that day, but it could be because of the annual Cast Member event that typically takes place in January.

We can’t believe we’re already thinking about 2026 at Disney World. It’s going to be a wild year, with so many refurbishments, rethemes, and new projects in the works for 2026.
