Planning a trip to Disney World and not sure where you should eat while you’re there? Luckily, you’ve come to the right place!

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney World restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Catalina Eddie’s at Hollywood Studios to try some new menu items, and are bringing you our thoughts!
Catalina Eddie’s is a quick-service restaurant located on Sunset Boulevard at Hollywood Studios, and it just got a menu overhaul! Since the closure of PizzeRizzo, it seems like some Italian-inspired eats have landed on the menu here.

To kick things off, we picked up the Alfredo Basil Chicken Pasta for $13.29. This is served with a slice of garlic bread.

We’re honestly shocked by how good this was. First of all, we loved that it was cavatappi pasta because it holds sauce so well — and this was no different. It’s creamy, it’s cheesy. There’s not too much sauce, there’s not too little — it coats the pasta really nicely. There’s also a bread crumb topping on top, so it’s a little bit of crunch with each bite.
The chicken was a little dry, but it was saved by the marinara sauce and cheese baked on top. It wasn’t alarmingly dry, but it definitely sat for a bit before it was served to us. The breading had a good amount of spice and salt without being overly so, but it wasn’t as crispy as we would have liked. The cheese on top was nice and bubbly, too.

We loved the garlic bread — it was crispy on the outside while the inside remained fluffy, and it wasn’t too greasy on our hands as we were eating it. It was basically like Texas toast, which we’re not mad about!
We appreciated the portion size — it’s certainly enough to keep you full and is probably even big enough to split if you’re not overly hungry. It’s definitely on the heavier side as far as dishes go, so keep that in mind if you’re trying to keep things light while you’re running around!

We also grabbed the new Chicken Parmesan with Pasta Marinara, which is also served with garlic bread, for $13.29.
This dish is served with the same chicken as the Alfredo Basil Chicken Pasta, and it tasted just the same — not overly dry, but certainly not the best Chicken Parm we’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the pasta with marinara sauce was NOT a hit. It reminded our reporter of meals in the mess hall during summer camp — just mass-produced noodles with tomato sauce.

The pasta was cooked well and held onto the sauce, but the sauce itself tasted like it came out of a jar (because it probably did) and wasn’t anything special. It was on the sweet side and would have benefited from a nutty cheese on top, like parmesan, to help cut the sweetness.
If you have picky eaters in your group or someone who really loves noodles and marinara, this might be a good option, but otherwise — we think it’s a skip!

There’s also a new Cannoli on the menu! We picked this up for $5.29.

Dear Disney World, please fix your cannoli problem. While they’re fine, this cannolo was like all the others we’ve had in the parks — soggy! The flavor was there, but because they’re kept cold, the shell tends to get moist and doesn’t stay crunchy like a cannolo shell should.
The filling was creamy and traditional with a bit of that grainy ricotta texture you might expect, and there was a good amount of chocolate shavings on it as well. It was fine, and if you’re really craving a cannolo, this might do the trick, but ultimately, we wouldn’t go out of our way for it.

In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
