This 45-Minute Restaurant Rule Should Be Illegal in Disney World

Not all Disney World restaurants are created equally.

Spice Road Table in EPCOT

There are fine dining spots, snack stands, and everything in between. Some restaurants require reservations, while at others, you simply walk up to a counter and order. But, this one restaurant rule should be illegal in Disney World.

Oga’s Cantina serves up beverages and snacks for both adults and children using “otherworldly” methods, poured into unusual drinking vessels. This bar and lounge, located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (with a sister location at Disneyland), has been extremely popular ever since it first debuted in 2019.

While Oga’s only serves light bites, you’ll still need a reservation to get in — that’s how popular it still is. Every once in a while, you can find a walk-up reservation, but for the most part — you’ll want to try your best to secure a reservation here to guarantee your experience.

And, because it’s so popular, it’s currently the only restaurant at Disney World with a strict time limit.

That’s right, guests only have 45 minutes to enjoy their time inside Oga’s Cantina, in order to give more visitors the opportunity to experience the bar. In addition to the time limit, there is also a 2-drink maximum per person at this spot — mainly for the same reason as the time limit.

While Oga’s Cantina is currently the only dining location in Disney World with a time limit like this, it won’t be for long. Similar rules will be applied to the new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar coming to Magic Kingdom.

The Beak and Barrel will be a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind — from seasoned swashbucklers to budding buccaneers.

Not only that, but the official Disney World website page for The Beak and Barrel reads, “Guests must be 21 years of age or over to consume alcohol; valid photo ID is required. There is a maximum of 2 drinks per Guest.”

Of course, we completely understand why the 45-minute time limit exists, and at the end of the day — we’re glad it’s there. We’ll be on the lookout for more news and updates from Disney World, so make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest.
