Oh man, you’re about to step into a super long line waiting for your turn at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and you should have grabbed a drink or snack to take with you. Don’t worry, we know just where you should head!

Welcome to Disney World!

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney World restaurants — and we’ve come up with our own list of snacking shortcuts to get through our day at Disney World. We recently stopped by Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and are bringing you our FULL review!

On one side, you’ll find the alcoholic drinks, cocktails, and mocktails at Thirsty River Bar…

…and can directly pick up your snacks right down the way at Trek Snacks. While most of what’s served here are popular Disney snack items, from time to time, you’ll also find a souvenir popcorn bucket to snag or a specialty dessert!

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

Located near Expedition Everest, this grab-and-go location serves up snacks and beverages of all kinds from both sides of the building.

Let’s get in line!

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

First up, we grabbed a classic Mickey Pretzel with cheddar cheese for $7.99.

A Mickey Pretzel!

This was that classic Mickey Pretzel we all know and love! It wasn’t hard or overcooked (which it can sometimes be.) It was just right and very soft on the inside. That being said, it’s pretty standard. It’s fairly one-note, but the salt helps add a little flavor.

The pretzel by itself!

The cheese you get here isn’t the same as the famous plastic cheese like you can grab at Casey’s Corner. It’s more of a ballpark plastic cheese that you would toss on some nachos. It’s very cute and nice for photos, but it won’t be the best pretzel you’ve ever had by any means.

The cheese!

Revisiting some old favorite drinks, we picked up the Avalanche Frozen Blue Margarita for $15.50. This is made with Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila, Blue Curaçao, Ginger, Sweet-And-Sour, and Lime Juice.

The Avalanche!

We love this drink! This drink is gold and refreshing. We grabbed our with a salt rim instead of sugar and it was a lovely balance. It was slightly sour and sweet and very much needed on a hot day.

A view from the top!

For our second favorite drink to revisit we picked up the Himalayan Ghost for $15.50. This is made with Snow Leopard Vodka, Guava, and Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade.

The Himalayan Ghost!

The vodka was nice and smooth under the Minute Maid Lemonaide and the guava flavors. It was essentially like having a spiked lemonade, but it wasn’t as good as the first in our opinion!

Magic or Tragic?

This spot has some great drinks and decent snacks to grab when you’re wandering through Asia in Animal Kingdom. It won’t knock your socks off like Nomad Lounge might, but it’s still a super tasty and convenient stop!  In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond.
