NEW Budget Airline Coming to Burbank Airport in 2026

When you choose to fly, you’ve got a lot of different options.

Perhaps you choose to fly with a favorite airline, such as Southwest Airlines or Delta, or you may opt for the most affordable option, which could be Spirit, Breeze, or even Avelo. However, if you often fly the cheapest you can and were upset by the recent news that Avelo Airlines would no longer fly to this Burbank airport, we’ve got great news — a NEW budget airline is swooping in!

According to Los Angeles Magazine, Breeze Airways is swooping in to save the day after Avelo Airlines recently announced it’d be pulling service from Hollywood Burbank Airport to focus on its East Coast operations. Breeze Airways is based in Utah and prides itself on offering “nonstop service between underserved routes across the U.S. at affordable fares.”

Beginning in March 2026, Breeze Airways will add five new West Coast routes, including Burbank, Arcata, Redmond, Eugene, and Pasco/Tri-Cities, which will result in the airline taking over approximately half of the routes previously operated by Avelo Airlines. This means Breeze’s current network will expand to over 300 routes in 76 cities and 34 states.

The airline’s response to joining the airport? They said it “is a direct response to growing demand for the airline’s successful hybrid business model and represents a significant expansion of Breeze’s West Coast network.” However, the reason for Avelo’s discontinuation of these routes was that they didn’t generate any revenue for them. We’ll be curious to see if Breeze Airways can turn that around or if they’ll suffer the same fate.
