Disney World restaurants are making some big changes — and you’ll want to be in the know before your trip!

One of the most important things you’ll plan for your vacation is where to dine, but how do you know WHERE to dine when everything around you is changing?! That’s what we’re here for! We’ve rounded up some of the big recent changes in Disney World dining to help you stay prepared and fed during your trip.
Ham & Cheese at Gaston’s
If you were a fan of the Ham & Gruyere Tart that lived at Gaston’s Tavern for a little while, we regret to inform you that it is no longer! (A moment of silence, please.) The tart has recently been replaced with a Ham & Gruyere Sandwich instead.

You can get this snack for $10.79 in Magic Kingdom, and we are glad to report that it was actually pretty good! It’s very cheesy, and the ham is nice and thick. It can get a little messy if you’re eating it outside in the sun, but overall, we’d definitely order it again. So this isn’t all bad news!
The Mac & Cheese Situation
If you’ve been around for a while, you know we’ve been longtime fans of the snack-sized macaroni & cheese options at Eight Spoon Cafe in Animal Kingdom. These have been a popular snack for the past several years, but now things have changed.

Eight Spoon got a menu update with some new items, and the mac & cheeses have moved over to The Smiling Crocodile nearby. Currently, the options are a regular mac & cheese, a buffalo chicken flavor, and one topped with garlic-smoked sausage, peppers, onions, and pickles. Sadly, the only place to get the Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese right now is over at Flame Tree BBQ.
DinoLand Dining
You’ve probably heard that DinoLand, U.S.A. is in the process of a major retheme to a Tropical Americas-inspired land. Unfortunately, this means we’ll be saying goodbye to the dining locations there in the coming months!

We must bid adieu to the likes of Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites to make way for new offerings when Tropical Americas opens in 2027. We’re expecting a major quick service spot to replace Restaurantosaurus, and we’re hoping for some cool and delicious snacks!
Shrinkflation
One truly sad change we’ve noticed with some Disney World dining spots is the appearance of “shrinkflation.” There have been several instances of our favorite snacks/dining offerings shrinking in portion size while the price goes up.

One item that got this treatment was the Drink Around the World Tray at the Coca-Cola Rooftop Beverage Bar in Disney Springs. It went up in price to $17, and two drinks were removed overall. We also noticed this problem at Columbia Harbour House, where portion sizes seem to be shrinking across the board. Womp womp!
But on a Positive Note…
However, if you’re interested in a positive food change, we’ve got some good news — the circular waffles are back at Sleepy Hollow! These disappeared a while back when Disney updated the menu to include loaded Mickey waffles instead, and the change (while whimsical) was disappointing texture-wise.

So three cheers for crispy waffles and delicious toppings! We’re so happy to have these back, and we know other Disney fans are too.
If you’re heading to Disney World soon, just make sure to check the menus for any of your must-do spots. Things change all the time, and it’s good to stay updated with what’s happening.
