We’re happy to report that one of our favorite dining spots in Disneyland has finally reopened!

Following a months-long refurbishment, Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe has finally opened again in the park, and not only do they have old favorites, but there are new items on the menu, too. Which, of course, means we had to go and check them out to tell you if they’re just pretty to look at or worth your hard-earned money!
This is the spot to go if you’re looking for a sweet treat in Disneyland, but do these new items live up to the hype around them? First up is the Donald Macaron for $8.29, which is filled with Cherry Buttercream and Vanilla Bean Crème.

This was served chilled, and it broke apart easily. While the white part of the shell tasted like vanilla, the blue part was white chocolate! The best part, though, was the inside of the treat — the cherry buttercream was sweet yet tart with more of a fresh dark cherry taste than that sickly sweet artificial taste you might expect. While the vanilla bean cream didn’t stand out too much, as there was already vanilla in the shell, it was a nice balance to the tart cherry. We totally recommend if you love cherry, or if you’re just looking for an adorable and delicious treat to celebrate the #1 duck.

The pineapple bundt cake is $6.79, topped with pineapple mousse and finished with a cherry. This is definitely our favorite new item — there was a bit of a tart flavor, but it was balanced out with a nice, sweet, sugary flavor from the glaze. The cake was moist, and there were little chunks of pineapple in some bites, which we loved. While there wasn’t much of the mousse, it did have a denser texture and a little bit of vanilla flavor. Major points to the pineapple flavor for tasting fresh and tart AND managing to be sweet without any bit of artificial flavoring!

We also grabbed the returning Strawberry Stuffed Croissant for $8.29, which is made of strawberries, pastry cream, strawberry coulis, and powdered sugar. Isn’t it PRETTY?

This was just as good as we remember! The croissant was buttery and extra sugary thanks to all of the powdered sugar they dusted on top. We loved the flavor of the strawberries and the pastry cream, and the strawberry coulis just brought it home. If you’re looking for a lighter, sweet dessert, this is a fantastic choice! Can you really go wrong with strawberries, sugar, and cream?

Finally, we had to grab the iconic Matterhorn Macaroon for $5.29 because we’re so relieved it’s returning. This is the same as it’s always been, meaning it’s covered in coconut, and the macaroon itself has that buttery taste that’s mostly overpowered by a mix of coconut and vanilla. For fans of coconut, this is 100% a must-grab for you!
