I love Disney World!

There is so much happening in these theme parks like the DinoLand U.S.A. changes, the Muppet Courtyard retheming, and more! While I have some mixed feelings about changes that are going on, there is one thing still missing from Disney World that I can’t stop thinking about.
I love the Magic Kingdom so much! From the iconic rides to my favorite snacks and the fireworks, there is nothing quite like Orlando’s flagship Disney park. While I might love it, there is one thing that is truly missing from this park that I would like to see.

If you don’t know, in the Disney castles around the world each of them has a walk-through attraction. In Disneyland, you can walk through the castle to see the story of Sleeping Beauty.

In Tokyo Disney, you can go inside the castle for a self-guided tour of Cinderella’s home where you can see portraits of her and the prince, her glass slipper, and more.

This was one of my favorite experiences in Tokyo and I even got to take a picture with Cinderella’s glass slipper!

You can find similar experiences in Hong Kong Disneyland where the castle hosts the princesses’ meet and greet location and a shop and in Shanghai Disney which boasts similar walk-through attractions, a boat-themed attraction, and more!

Disneyland Paris also famously boasts a walk-through attraction with a dragon underneath the castle! I mean how cool is that?

When it comes to Magic Kingdom, the only way to go inside the castle is if you’re dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table or taking your kiddo to Bibbidi Bobiddi Boutique. While I think both of these offerings are really cool, they don’t live up to the other attractions in my mind.

Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom is the second oldest castle in Disney’s line up so this isn’t something they could ever easily change but I think it’s a disservice that you need to pay to get inside the castle. For me, it doesn’t need to be anything big either!

The Sleeping Beauty Walk-Through attraction in Disneyland is a pretty small attraction when you compare it to the other offerings in that park but there is something so special about actually going inside the castle rather than just walking underneath it.

Is this something I’m expecting to see fixed in Disney World? No. It would require overhauling the symbol of the park which would take a lot more than a simple walk-through attraction might be worth in the eyes of the company. Do I wish I could just step foot inside the castle without paying or winning a prize to stay in the room? Yes.
