“The Most Magical Place on Earth” would not be complete without the attractions. There are iconic attractions that have been operating since opening day, such as Jungle Cruise, and newly opened attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Disney World has a huge variety of attractions available. From slow rides such as “it’s a small world” to thrill rides like Expedition Everest, there is something for just about anyone to enjoy.
There is so much to experience across the four Disney World theme parks. However, there are a few weird things that people do on Disney World rides, and we are talking about some of them today!
Pretending To Be Asleep
We’ve probably all done this or something similar when posing for ride photos. You know the ride photo is coming up, and you want to do something fun and creative with your group. You want to be able to look back at the photos and smile.

One such pose is pretending to be taking a nap on the ride. We have lots of team members who agreed that they love to take ride photos while pretending to be asleep. It is definitely super believable. Of course we were fast asleep while speeding around the track at Test Track!
Actually Falling Asleep
Alright, most of us are probably guilty of doing this, too. Carousel of Progress just becomes the perfect nap spot after we have spent hours walking around Magic Kingdom during the heat of the summer. Add with cushy seats, cold air conditioning, and a good tune, and you have prime napping conditions.

We have also spotted people dozing off during American Adventure, Hall of Presidents, and even the People Mover. While it may seem a bit odd, we think that taking a power nap on these rides is just what you need sometimes.
Choosing a Water Ride, Then Completely Covering Up
Most of us have done it. We get all excited to hop on a water ride, and before getting in the vehicle we cover ourselves up head to toe in water protection. We want to ride the water ride, but not actually get wet.

It is a bit weird when you think about it, but walking around the parks while being wet is definitely not the most comfortable thing. However, the water can feel pretty great on a hot day. When it comes to water rides, do what makes you most comfortable, whether that is embracing the wet or covering every inch of your body up!
Staring at a Random Corner
This weird thing may just be one of the smartest things. If you have ever noticed someone staring off into a random corner on a 3D ride, you may have wondered what was going on. In fact, staring at a random corner can help someone who is feeling motion sickness on a ride.

While not guaranteed to help motion sickness, if you start to feel sick, try out this trick as it may help. Focus your attention on one spot in a corner and maintain your focus there. You can also remove your 3D glasses or close your eyes if you are still feeling sick.
Throwing Hair Ties
We have always wondered what started this trend, but it still continues to this day. If you have ridden Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom, you may have noticed a large collection of hair ties right before the track is destroyed.

Riders have been throwing hair ties out here for years, and the collection has continued to grow and grow. This is one of those weird things that doesn’t really serve a purpose beyond adding to the pile. Kind of like throwing coins in a fountain, but with hair ties.
Dumping Ashes
Alright, now we are moving on to the portion of this list that includes things we do not recommend. We are starting off with dumping ashes. You may wonder why this is here, but it has happened before. Disney World actually has its very own code for this situation, a Code A.

A Code A means that a cast member has found ashes inside of a Disney World attraction. While Haunted Mansion is the most common recipient of this call, it has also happened on other attractions. Please do not dump ashes on an attraction. It is a safety risk and requires cast members to dress up in full hazmat suits to clean up. As well, it will result in the ride being closed down for a lengthy amount of time.
Changing Diapers (Um what?)
You read that right…and unfortunately one of our team members has first-hand experience with this. They witnessed a diaper change while singing along on “it’s a small world.” It will likely scar them for the rest of their life, and they will never look at “it’s a small world” the same again.

Please leave all baby changing for the designated baby changing areas. This is another weird thing we won’t be able to get behind, so we are begging you not to change diapers while you are on Disney World rides.
These are just a few weird things that people do on Disney World rides. Most are fun and well-meaning, just make sure you are being respectful to cast members and those around you. Make sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all your Disney World news!
