See the Newest Baby Animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

There are about a million reasons to love Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

From the beauty of Pandora, to the incredible eats and drinks at Nomad Lounge, we’ll never stop calling Animal Kingdom out for being the underrated park that it is. One more BIG reason it earns that title? Two words — BABY. ANIMALS.

There are few pieces of news that bring us as much joy as the addition of new animals to the Animal Kingdom family. From a new baby Okapi, to a little piglet, we love getting to report on the new babies at the park!

And for its latest additions, we don’t just have one baby — we have seven! Dr. Mark Penning, the Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science & Environment, shared on Instagram that one of the hedgehogs at Animal Kingdom has become a new mom to seven little hoglets (which is the best name for any baby animal ever).

The mom, who has the fabulous name of Glitter Toaster Strudel, is backstage at Rafiki’s Planet Watch with her little ones and the father (we have to imagine he is called something like Transcendent Matchbox Car).

Glitter Toaster Strudel gave birth recently to the litter, adding seven new lesser Madagascar tenrec hedgehogs to Animal Kingdom’s family. These animals technically actually aren’t hedgehogs, but there’s nothing lesser about them! They are very similar to hedgehogs and, just as their name implies, they are native to Madagascar.

While we don’t know when they will make their official debut in the parks, we are sure they are enjoying spending time with their mom and dad!
