5 Halloween Outfits You Already Have at Home

Are you looking to DIY your costume this year? Halloween costumes can be really expensive, and sometimes it’s easier to add a few accessories to something you already own.

We’re showing you some easy costumes to create with items you probably already have in your wardrobe! You can save a lot of money and time by just dressing up things you already own, plus you can then wear these items throughout the year.

Buzz Lightyear

Buzz has such distinctive colors it’s easy to throw an outfit together inspired by him! Just combine pieces that include lime green, deep purple, black, white, and a few bits of red.

We recommend making the base items white, then adding the green and purple, and sticking to black and red for accessories. If you have any Buzz items like this backpack, now’s the time to wear them! You can add a purple headband as a callback to his helmet, and accessorize with glow sticks for a futuristic vibe!

Daisy Duck

Looking for something on the sweet side? Dress up as Daisy Duck! Daisy’s color palette is purple, white, pink, and yellow, and we’re sure you probably have those colors in your wardrobe already!

Copy her purple top, and then wear white on the bottom for her feathers. If you have something with feathers on it, even better! Wear some pink shoes just like her, and don’t forget her teal bangle! Accessorize with something yellow for her beak and any other Daisy or duck items you may have.

Bruno Madrigal

Bruno might have been separated from his family and alone for many years, but now he’s a Disney favorite! Dress up just like him by pairing warm-toned separates, like this cream long-sleeved top and brown trousers.

The most important part of this costume is Bruno’s deep green poncho, so don’t forget that! Slip into your favorite pair of neutral sandals, and you are good to go! We chose to add a little more to the look with the Madrigal butterfly on a necklace and some adorable rat earrings!

Kuzco

Do you command attention when you walk into the room? Be ready to enter that Halloween party shouting “BOOM BABY!” when you’re dressed as Emperor Kuzco! Kuzco’s outfit is primarily made of a vibrant orange-red, so we chose a dress in that color for the base.

He also has a geometric gold necklace, similar to the one shown here, as well as some lovely teal earrings. Kuzco wears sandals so you could wear a pair, but we also decided to show this outfit with a pair of boots, just because for many people it’s cold around Halloween! Thrown on as much gold jewelry as you’d like (he is an emperor after all!) and pair with some llama-themed accessories to finish it off.

X-Wing Pilot

Star Wars fans, we didn’t forget about you! Get ready for your turn in the cockpit with this outfit that’s a modern take on an X-Wing fighter uniform.

The key to this look is picking items that give off a rugged or military vibe, like these cargo pants and the combat boots. Stick to the orange, white, and black color palette of their uniforms to really lean into the vibe. We added a pair of aviator sunglasses to simulate the visors on their helmets. If you have any Star Wars accessories like this cute BB-8 backpack and matching earrings, go ahead and add them!
