Here’s something we thought we’d never write — there’s a Winnie the Pooh horror movie coming out.

Yeah, seriously! And no, Disney is NOT involved. We know it’s spooky season, and horror movies definitely have a huge fanbase, but we thought the scariest thing involving Winnie the Pooh that we’d have to experience was the Heffalumps and Woozles scene from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in Disney World. Unfortunately, we were wrong.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is an upcoming horror movie that shows Pooh and Piglet going on a violent rampage after their former friend Christopher Robin abandons them.

Yeah, we know, it sounds (and looks) like a complete fever dream. The film doesn’t even have a release date yet, so we can’t even warn you about when you could possibly see it in theaters (or, more likely, on streaming services).

The trailer was just released online, and there are some VERY interesting things going on. First of all, you’ll notice that Pooh and Piglet are apparently…humans? Or at least they’re the same shape and size as humans, just with animal heads.
They literally have human hands. What is the explanation for this here? Did they morph in shape due to being abandoned by Christopher Robin?

Honestly, they might’ve been better off using an ACTUAL BEAR to portray a scary monster-version of Winnie the Pooh instead of whatever this human hybrid thing is. He doesn’t even have fur! And he’s wearing a flannel. Pooh is a lumberjack now, everyone. ?
Pooh also drives a BMW, apparently. So, whatever he’s been doing for the past several years is obviously working out for him. Or, you know, he stole the car.

The movie seems to show Christopher Robin going to look for Pooh and Piglet and then discovering that they’ve turned violent. There also seems to be a house where a group of girls are staying that the “animals” attack.
We’re warning you, the trailer is a bit gory, and it’s extremely unsettling to see these beloved childhood characters turned into…whatever they are now.

You might be wondering “how could Disney let this happen?!” Well, Disney doesn’t own the exclusive rights to Winnie the Pooh anymore. Due to the expiration of the copyright in 2021, Disney is now no longer able to sue anyone that uses A.A. Milne’s original Winnie the Pooh stories for inspiration to create content.

Disney CAN sue people that try to use Disney’s version of the characters, but this movie is very obviously NOT using the Disney versions of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. We can only hope we don’t also see a humanoid Tigger and Eeyore as well. *shivers*

What’s next? Is Tinker Bell going to go off the rails? Is Olaf out for blood? Will Mickey become possessed?! We really do not want to find out. And we very much do not want any other of our favorite characters violated like this! Luckily, Disney owns the rights to these other characters for now, so we probably won’t see anything else like this happen anytime soon.

We don’t even know what else to say, we just know that we’re scared. And we also will probably not be watching this movie if and when it’s released. But, we’ll let you know if we see any other bizarre Disney character adaptations.
