Disney has a number of social media accounts that fans can follow — from TikTok to Instagram and everything in between. While these normally showcase brand new snacks, upcoming events, and images of fan-favorite characters, things looked very different recently.

In the early morning hours of July 7th, some social media accounts (including Facebook and Instagram) for Disneyland Resort were hacked.

You can see the some of Instagram posts in the screenshot below which feature images posted by the hacker.

The hacker posted a number of posts and stories on the social media platforms. These were up and in place for about 50 minutes/an hour before they were removed.

The hacker identified himself as “super hacker” David Do. In one post he indicated that he was here to “bring revenge” on Disneyland. The hacker then posted some social media posts and stories with comments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, and descriptions that utilized racial slurs and other disparaging and offensive terms.

The posts have since been removed from Disneyland’s social media websites.

UPDATE: According to Fox 8 News, in a statement shared with Nexgar, Disney officials said, “Disneyland Resort’s Facebook and Instagram accounts were compromised early this morning…We worked quickly to remove the reprehensible content, secure our accounts, and our security teams are conducting an investigation.”

This is a developing situation. As we learn more, we’ll be sure to update this post.
