Disney’s Contemporary Resort has seen quite a few changes recently! The Wave has transformed into Steakhouse 71, and California Grill is debuting a new prix-fixe menu in celebration of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
Earlier this week, we saw construction walls come down in the first-floor lobby area, and now much of the work on the main tower rooms has been completed. So, we’re bringing you along for a FIRST look at the hotel’s newly refurbished guest rooms inspired by The Incredibles!
After Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort debuted their Moana-themed guest rooms this past summer, we’ve been anxiously awaiting the completion of these Incredible rooms. And, with construction tarps removed from most of the floors in the main tower, you can see even from afar that the resort has a brand new look and feel!
And, the re-theme starts from the second you head to your room! Now, the elevator lobbies on each floor feature new bright geometric red, yellow, and orange carpet…
…and on your walk to your room, you’ll notice a variety of new posters featuring the characters from Disney and Pixar’s Incredibles. The designs are a bit more abstract but feature Mr. Incredible…
…Elastigirl doing her thing and helping out a monorail…
…Jack-Jack floating around what looks like is the exterior of the hotel…
…Violet and Dash…
…and, of course, the whole gang!
Plus, you’ll even notice some new abstract wallpaper that ties into the new design details in the rooms.
And, now it’s time to head inside! When you first enter, your attention will likely first be drawn to the brand new color scheme that can be found all over the room with bright reds and greys as the focus.

And, there’s even some extra seating hidden away under the side table.
Depending on which room type you select, you may have different bed sizes — but this is a room with two queen beds and you might notice that they’ve gotten a bit of an upgrade!
Now the beds are a bit higher off the floor, giving you plenty of extra room to store your suitcases or souvenirs…
…and there’s a brand new headboard that connects the two beds and nightstands.
And, there’s even room to sleep one more because the couch converts into an extra bed.
The Incredibles and Disney theming is a bit more subtle in the main room area, but if you look close you can still spot them on the pillows, lamps…
…in the drawers…
…and on the curtains.
Each room also comes with a patio area that includes two chairs, a small table…
…and a view of either Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake.
Other amenities in the room include a closet, extra drawer space, and a small coffee bar and this is where you’ll find more hidden details from the new theme.
If you look closely at the coffee bar, you can spot Edna Mode’s coffee mug and a mug with DevTech written on it (which is the telecommunications company from The Incredibles 2) in the background. And, it includes a few select water bottles on the top shelf…
…a Keurig…
…and everything that you’ll need to make your morning cup of Joe (including the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary k-cups!).
Under the coffee bar, you’ll find some extra drawer space since the room does not have a full dresser placed under the TV like many other Disney hotel rooms.
And, inside the closet, there’s no forgetting that you’re in Disney World. The members of the Incredibles family are also hanging up their essentials inside, but there’s still plenty of hanger space for yours. Plus, you’ll also find a rack to hold your suitcase and more drawers.
Up top, there’s an extra pillow and blanket that has been cleaned and placed in a sealed bag…
…and there’s also a safe that you can lock with your valuables and a hairdryer stowed away in another cabinet.
Of course, the bathroom got a bit of a makeover too!

…a double sink, storage space, and a mirror with a monorail design.
Plus, you’ll be reminded of all the different versions of Jack-Jack in some of the new artwork.
Well, that’ll do it for our full photo and video tour of the new guest rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Keep in mind that only some of the rooms are available for booking but we’ll be sure to keep you up to date as more construction wraps up in the hotel, so stay tuned to AllEars!

Disney “re-themed” the guest rooms in the late 1990’s to resemble a “Jetsons-esque” version of the future.
It didn’t work so well. So, in the mid to late 2000’s they re-themed the rooms to look less cartoonish. I liked the less cartoonish theming. Now, they’ve done it again with the Incredibles theming. I don’t like it, but it’s not as bad as the late ’90s/early 00’s version of the rooms!
The new teeming is largely dreadful. This really was never a “children’s” resort and I’m sorry they turned it into one.
