As Disney’s theme parks around the world have started to reopen, multiple guidelines have been put in place to keep guests and Cast Members safe.

Since Shanghai Disneyland was the first location to welcome people to the parks back in May, we were able to see the new character experiences, Stand By process for attractions, and suspension of fireworks and parades. Many of the same health and safety guidelines were used in Disney World and other parks that have reopened since.
Although Shanghai Disneyland Resort has already slowly been raising its operating capacity, the park has has announced that it will be raising its capacity again on August 24th. In accordance with the Chinese government, the operating capacity will go from 30% to 50% later this month.

All ticket holders will be able to visit the parks on eligible days with availability in the parks. However, the parks will still be requiring that guests visiting must have a Shanghai Disneyland Reservation QR Code to show before they arrive at the main entrance.

Shanghai Disneyland has previously stated that Annual Passholders and general ticket holders who were affected by the park closures and Advanced Reservation Period would have the validity of their tickets extended. In the new statement, the parks informed guests that this would happen when the next reopening phase started on August 24th.

Along with the extensions, Annual Passholders will no longer have to make reservations in advance to visit the parks. But, they will still need to submit their visitation date and personal information in order to obtain a Shanghai Disneyland Reservation QR Code. The new 30-day window will be available for guests to begin making reservations on August 18th (where the reservations will be usable starting August 24th in the parks).

General ticket holders will also no longer be required to have reservations in advance. Both Annual Passholders and general ticket holders will see their passes extended for 212 days starting from the original expiration date of the tickets (which is the total amount of days that they were impacted from January 25th through August 23rd).

Other guests will still be required to purchase dated admission tickets in advance in order to make sure that capacity stays at 50% daily.

Although Hong Kong Disneyland will remain closed during this time, we’ll continue to give you updates on the phased reopenings at all of the Disney Parks around the world!
