In the interest of the health and safety of both guests and Cast Members, Disney’s Aulani Resort has been closed since March 24th.

When Disneyland and Disney World closed earlier in March, they each announced that they would be donating their excess food to local food banks. And now, it looks like Aulani is following their lead!
In light of the recent closure, Aulani has donated fresh food, normally enjoyed by resort guests, to a local food bank. The food has been delivered to Aloha Harvest, a food collection and redistribution organization located on Oahu.

In fact, Aulani has donated approximately 7,000 pounds of perishable food to the organization over the past week. After the donations are made, Aloha Harvest delivers food to social service agencies across the island the same day to ensure the items remain fresh.

The donation consisted of fresh foods including pineapples, watermelons, lemons, lettuce, onions, bread, milk products, as well as treats like cupcakes, cookies, and popcorn.
Aloha Harvest Executive Director “Phil” Augustus Acosta expressed his appreciation for the donation, saying, “Donations like this are so important during times of uncertainty. This food helps ensure that people who are already faced with hunger continue to receive resources.”

Aulani Resort General Manager Kimberly Agas commented on the decision to donate the excess food, “Over the past nine years, Aulani Resort has contributed to the community in a number of ways. That’s why during these unprecedented times, this donation was the kindest and most heartwarming decision to make.” We’re glad to see that Disney properties are continuing to support local communities with donations!
