Reservations are required to visit Disneyland‘s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23. From June 24 onward you will need a boarding pass to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland.

The boarding pass system will serve as a virtual queue system and will manage the crowd levels in the new land.
Some of the first guests in Disneyland each morning will be able to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge without a boarding pass. When the land reaches capacity visitors will need boarding passes. Guests in the park later in the evening and night may be able to enter the land without a boarding pass as well.
The Disneyland app will notify guests when the land is full and boarding passes are required for entry.

You must be in the park to select a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge boarding group through the Disneyland app. Kiosks issuing paper boarding passes will be available around the park for guests not using the Disneyland app.
You will receive a push notification on your phone when it’s time for your boarding group to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge . You will have two hours after receiving the push notification to redeem the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge boarding pass. There will not be any time limits on length of visits to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with the boarding pass system.

Disney hopes the boarding pass system allows guests to enjoy Disneyland attractions, dining, and shopping activities while waiting to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge instead of standing in a long line to enter the land. “It’s very, very important for us that our guests who are coming here don’t spend their time standing in line to get into the land,” Disneyland vice president Kris Theiler explained to the OC Register.
The boarding pass/virtual line system will be used until crowd levels decrease for the new land.
What do you think of the boarding pass/virtual line system? Will this help with crowd control? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
