While we love staying in some of the immaculately themed hotels on Disney World property, sometimes we’re looking for something a bit more affordable but still close to the parks.

Did you know that there are Official Walt Disney World Hotels that are on Disney property but not owned or operated by Disney? They have similar amenities, including proximity to the parks, which is HUGE for us. We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Orlando, which is a Disney Springs Area Hotel, to see if it’s worth a visit.
Holiday Inn Orlando is located about 7-10 minutes away walking to Disney Springs (yes, it’s that close!) and also has shuttles to get you to the Disney World parks. You can enter the Disney World parks 30 minutes early every day of your stay! Trust us, those 30 minutes can make a huge difference.

When it comes to amenities here at this hotel, there’s a fantastic pool with some pretty fun themed loungers and umbrellas. It’s colorful and fun, and feels like Florida.

We can’t forget about the hot tub, of course!

Inside the hotel itself, you’ll find a Lobby Bar pretty close to the pool…

…but if you don’t want to eat or drink inside, don’t worry — there’s lots of seating to enjoy outside, as well as a window to allow you to order without even needing to walk inside!

There’s also an open area near the pool that has some fun lawn games to play, if you don’t feel like swimming.

The lobby itself has lots of different types of seating, and is pretty cozy to either relax or to get some work done away from your room, if needed.

If you’re looking for a quick snack, you can check out the small snack store in the lobby…

…and if you find that you’re in need of some medication, there’s also a PharmaBox in the lobby as well. This has a large variety of medications, ranging from Advil, Aleve, sunscreen, Benadryl, and so much more.

While breakfast isn’t complimentary at this hotel, there is a breakfast buffet available for $24.95, but kids eat free! Depending on where you might have been planning to grab breakfast in the parks each day, that’s a pretty amazing deal.

Breakfast is from 6:30-10:30 AM each day, and there’s even a placard to help you decide when to go, depending on what type of crowds you’re willing to deal with.

The other two amenities we really want to highlight are the arcade, which is an additional cost, but can be lots of fun for kids…

…and the gym, which is complimentary for any guests staying at the hotel.

Our favorite part? This giant Disney World mural/map, of course!

But let’s talk about the rooms, since that’s where you’ll actually be staying. There are rooms available with one King bed, as well as others with two Queen beds, meaning that most rooms can fit between two and four people.

The rooms are decently spacious, more spacious than you’ll find many Disney World hotel rooms, especially those at Value resorts, which are usually around the same price point as these hotels. The beds themselves are comfortable, and the table in between the two of them has a drawer for storage, as well as a lamp (with outlets), an alarm clock, and a phone on top of it.

Going out onto the balcony, we had an incredible view! At this hotel, for both room types, there are Standard View rooms, Poolside View rooms, and Disney World Fireworks View rooms. Below is what a Fireworks View room balcony looks like…

…but we also got to step into a room with a Poolside View. These rooms are potentially going to be louder, especially during the day, so that’s something to keep in mind.

On the other side of the room, which may be slightly different depending on which room type you’re in, you’ll find a desk and chair with a lamp, as well as your icebox, cups, and complimentary waters…

…as well as the dresser with the TV on top. Next to it, we had the luggage holder, as well as a full length mirror — gotta check out our outfits before we head out into the parks for the day!

In our room, the mini fridge, microwave, and coffee station were right across from the bathroom, tucked into a little alcove. Again, this could be slightly moved depending on what room you’re in.

To the left of the food station was the closet, which included plenty of space for you to hang up your clothes, as well as a safe to keep your important belongings in, and extra bedding and pillows.

Finally, we have the bathroom, which was also pretty spacious! There was plenty of space on the counter to put down what we needed, and we really loved the lighting the mirror provided.

When it comes to the shower, there was also a bathtub, which often makes life easier for parents with small children, and there’s also complimentary Dove shampoo, conditioner, and body wash on the wall.

If you’re concerned about laundry while on your trip, there are washers and dryers available for your use at an additional cost.

Overall, we think this is a very solid hotel, and with rates for Standard rooms usually sitting around $130-$160 depending on the time of year you’re traveling, this is a great deal. You even still get tons of Disney perks like Early Entry, shuttles to the parks, and even Disney Golf advance tee times.
